These villages are stocked full of mouth-watering restaurants, local shops and country pubs to tempt you out and many excellent walks are available straight from your door.

Boating activities are at their very best on Lake Windermere and this cottage is an excellent base for touring the Lakes.

Whether you are a party of 2, 4 or 6 then Ash Cottage is a real special treat at any time of the year.

== Accommodation in Detail A traditional entrance porch leads into the entrance hall with first sight of the sumptuous finish.

Cosy yet bright lounge with deep cushioned furnishings and a beautiful fireplace, there is a lovely view from the lounge and this room has a calming atmosphere.

The dining room also has a Victorian fireplace with super furnishings to match.

The 'state of the art' kitchen has everything you may need and is wrapped up in gorgeous granite and a door leads out to a useful conservatory which leads out to the enclosed rear garden, being ideal for meals 'al fresco'.

Upstairs to the first floor with generous double bedroom, full of space and co-ordinated with antique French style furnishings, complete with king size bed and superb views together with an en-suite shower room.

The second double bedroom also displays sophisticated white French style furnishings and the luxury Victorian bathroom with separate shower cubicle is a perfect place to pamper yourself after a hard day on our Fells.

Upstairs again to the twin bedroom with more sophisticated co-ordination and finishing touches.

Windermere Train Station 1.5 miles: Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There is also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake. The area is ideally situated for exploring all that this region has to offer, whether by foot, bike, car, railway or bus; and is within easy reach of attractions such as the spectacular Langdales, Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top House at Far Sawrey, Coniston, Grizedale Forest Park, with its delightful walks and famous outdoor sculptures, mountain biking and 'Go-Ape' adventure park, Ullswater, Kendal, Keswick, stone circles, Roman forts and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike.
