    “A pleasant, basic property in a great location.”

    Very disappointed that the TV and DVD player were not compatible having different cable connections, one scart, one hdml, so we couldn't watch the dvds we had brought especially. Left two messages on the only owner mobile number given and didn't receive a reply. Small collection of odd pans that had seen better days, and I had to buy a new washing up bowl as the one provided was cracked all around the rim and very grubby. The outdoor patio was unloved with loose stone surfaces and empty plant ...

The property

A traditional, stone-built terraced cottage located at the end of the high street in the ever-popular town of Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria.

This delightful cottage is an ideal small family retreat or for couples to spread out and recharge the batteries.

The cottage has been tastefully renovated to retain its cottage charm, with a blend of original features and modern fixtures.

On entering the cottage you will be met with a warm and cosy sitting room, ideal for relaxing and enjoying a film after a day exploring the wonderful surrounding area.

On the ground floor you will also find a stylish kitchen with dining area and with all the amenities to prepare and enjoy meals with loved ones.

Upstairs two inviting bedrooms await you, one with a king-size double bed and one single bedroom, together with a modern family bathroom.

Outside you will find a spacious patio area for enjoying a spot of alfresco dining, or for just relaxing with a good book and a refreshing drink.

Less than a minute's walk from an array of shops and traditional pubs in the market town of Kirkby Stephen, the cottage sits in an enviable location.

The area is superb for lovers of the outdoors, with the nearby Howgill Fells, a favourite of Wainwright, offering great walking and cycling opportunities, and the famous Coast-to-Coast route passes nearby.

Alternatively, enjoy the countryside from the comfort of a traditional steam train with the famous Settle-Carlisle railway can be easily accessed from the cottage.

With the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks close by, this makes for an excellent holiday base whatever the time of year.
