“Lovely cottage in a beautiful, peaceful location.”

Extremely well equipped. Would definitely recommend and it is on our shortlist of Lakeland properties to return to. Could I suggest that someone update the information folders in the cottage. Some of the leaflets seem to be out of date. Bins - we put them all out, as requested, on the Monday. The household waste was emptied, but not the others. We left them out as per the information folder - it said that because of the binmen strike they may come on another day. They were full to the ...

We really weren't sure what to do for the best. Other than that, it was a fantastic four days and we now feel totally rejuvenated!

“The property was excellent, well equipped, well maintained and nicely decorated for Christmas.”

Beds were comfortable. We did have to override the central heating schedule a fair bit to keep it warm enough during the day (the weather kept us inside a lot). The bottle of wine left for us was an unexpected pleasant surprise, thankyou. We were mildly disappointed at the cleanliness of some of the kitchen equipment - glasses and pans that really needed washing before use and at the half used pint of (sour) milk dated BB 30th Nov that had been left in the fridge. We’d also enquired specifically about logs and been told that there had been a recent delivery and would be plenty for the week. In fact the recent delivery was coal and there were only a handful of logs. This meant we had to make a trip out to buy four bags of logs and a box of kindling as we specifically did not want to burn too much coal. We enjoyed our holiday and expect that we might rebook in the future. Thankyou !

“The downpipe from the rear gutter, outside the rear upstairs bedroom is blocked and as a consequence water is overflowing and splashing down the wall.”

The wall light nearest to the front door is prone to bouts of flickering, which suggests a loose collection. One light bulb in the ceiling of the kitchen area needs to be replaced.

Thank you very much for letting us know about these matters. This helps us keep on top of maintenance. Unfortunately, at this time of year the falling leaves to tend to block the gutters!! As soon as we were notified we arranged for the gutter to be cleared and we have also booked in for the electrics to be sorted. Once again thanks for the feedback. We hope to see you again soon! “We were very happy with the cottage, the only thing that seemed not to work perfectly were the waste bins…other people seemed to use our plastics bin for their general waste!”

Perhaps some more prominent reminders of where to put what are needed in the other cottages as well. Thank you for letting us this very well equipped cottage!

Yes, the waste bins have been a bit of a challenge lately and this is partly due to strikes by the local council, but it sounds like we need to let the neighbours know about sign-posting for their recycling bins as well. This property offers a wonderful hideaway for a family or group of friends wishing to explore the area. Park-up before entering the property, passing a charming bench where you can listen to the babbling river that runs past the cottage. Step inside to find the open-plan living space and social core of the home, with a kitchen, dining area, and sitting area. Cook up a storm in the kitchen for the family to enjoy at the table for six, then move through the space and enjoy a film on the Smart TV while the fire flickers. Choose from three well-appointed bedrooms when it is time to rest, including a king-size master with river and countryside views and a twin, both served by a bathroom. Back on the ground floor, the remaining bunk room is ideal for children or friends, and you will also find an additional shower room, completing the cottage's interior.
