Travel north from the cottage over the spectacular Kirstone Pass and Brotherwatter, Patterdale and Ullswater are all waiting to be explore. Closer to home there is a myriad of walks to choose from. The small village shop and tea room add to the charm of the village If the high fells are your chosen destination Ill Bell, Thornthwaite Crag, Stoney Cove Pike, and the mighty High Street can all be conquered right from the front door. Accommodation in detail From the private parking space directly in front of the cottage, pass through the gate and the front door opens to a tradional pourch with plenty of space for coats and boots. Beyond the living area opens in fronto of you. The dual aspect lounge is bright, airy and very welcoming with a cosy log burning stove, comfortable sofa and arm chairs, a pretty window seat overlooking the valley and TV. The open plan kitchen / diner with a second log burning stove features floor to ceiling south facing picture window and patio doors that open on the first of two patios the cottage has to offer. Relax over a social dinner or a hearty breakfast at the family dining table. The contemporary fitted kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and washer/drier. A feature oak staircase leads from the sitting room to the first floor. The first bedroom is presented with a welcoming kingsize bed and smart ensuite shower room. There is a pleasant sheltered and gravelled patio area to the front of the property with a couple of chairs and a paved walkway to the side of the property, and from the patio doors from the dining room, lead to a sheltered and enclosed rear patio area, an ideal place to relax and dine with a lovely aspect over the neighbouring gardens and enjoying the picturesque view across the valley. Location A traditional Lakeland cottage in the Troutbeck Valley, provides a Lake District holiday experience like no other. Still only a short drive from shops and restaurants in Windermere village, Lake Windermere itself and the vibrant lake shore communities of Bowness and Ambleside, the Troutbeck Valley is a peaceful haven away from the rush. Spectacular Lakeland fells surround this lush valley; scattered with historic Lakeland houses and pretty woodlands, and blessed with several acclaimed Lake District country pubs. One of which is literally a healthy stone's throw from your cottage, the Queens Head in Troutbeck village is renowned for their excellent food, Cumbrian produce and cosy fireside ambience. Perfect for a special occasion. There are endless opportunities for romantic Lake District walks from your doorstep. Taking the car over Kirkstone Pass towards Ullswater, you'll pass Brothers Water - one of our favourite spots for a leisurely Sunday stroll. For exploring further afield, despite the blissfully secluded feel of the Troutbeck Valley, you're never too far from the main linking roads throughout the Lake District.
