“Nice property, could do with some air fresheners, there was a smell of dog throughout the property on arrival.”
I brought my dog with me but that wasn’t the smell, you can only open the windows slightly to let some air in due to the close proximity to farms and cattle.
The outside “games room” was ok but could do with upgrading, not a real dart board and games table was ok.
Could do with some maps for walks around local area, I couldn’t find them with my dog, a previous resident said there was but apart from the local nature reserve I didn’t find any.
Overall this is a nice property with basics that you would need for a short break away
We appreciate your feedback from your brief stay and are always looking to improve facilities where needed.
Honister is in a village, in a farming area with open fields and livestock often grazing nearby, which we have no control over. Having recently undertaken a large quality fit out, we are sorry you felt Honister only had basics. The windows do all open fully.
Honister is 5* cleaned between each stay and you are advised to make contact in the first 24hrs of arrival if you feel it does not meet this standard, with the housekeeper or our contact details are also available if required. This now makes it difficult to identify the problem. Our housekeeper is informed of above comments and surprised. We apologise for any unpleasant odours you experienced.
There is a range of leaflets, National Trust and British Heritage books in the dining room for use by guests and again we apologise if you could not locate these. We will check if they have been moved before our next guests arrive.
The games room, though not luxurious, offers space with many games for your teens but for safety reasons, with young children and pets, who also come as guests,we felt “real” darts a risk and chose not to have them. There is also a small range of books and puzzles available in the dining room.
Thank you for staying with us and hope overall that you had a comfortable stay.
Kind Regards
Susan and Simon
