    “I chose The Gardener's Bothy from it's incredible pictures and the aptness of the name, being a gardener myself.”

    The place is stunning, beautiful setting and scenery, great facilities, so much storage that it's perfect for even the best over-packers, it really is a perfect home away from home. The team were fabulous at answering any questions we had before arriving and keep it all in brilliant condition. If you are looking for a good base to go out exploring the lakes, or even keep yourself dry and warm inside, then this is a spot to check out.

    The place is stunning, beautiful setting and scenery, great facilities, so much storage that it's perfect for even the best over-packers, it really is a perfect home away from home. The team were fabulous at answering any questions we had before arriving and keep it all in brilliant condition. The Gardener's Bothy is a delightful holiday cottage nestled in the countryside of the Lake District National Park, in Hutton John near Penruddock.

With off-road parking and one king-size bedroom, it is an ideal base for a couple looking for a romantic retreat to Cumbria.

Be welcomed into a characterful wood-clad property, discover a tasteful kitchen with a great selection of amenities to cater to your culinary needs.

The dining room is a characterful spot for indulging in a hearty meal, with the added ambience of a woodburning stove and wooden roof beams throughout, and there is also a study for anyone who needs to work during their stay.

After a long day of exploring, settle down into the sitting area, a charming space boasting exposed brick walls, stylish furniture, and a Smart TV.

When sleep calls, freshen up in either the ground-floor shower room or the en-suite shower room, both with contemporary décor, and from the well-presented bedroom you will find a balcony overlooking the grounds below.

When the sun is shining, head out into the garden and enjoy morning coffee in the sunshine or dine alfresco.

The garden also has the added indulgence of a wood-burning hot tub (starter pack of wood included), ideal for relaxing amongst the bubbles after a long day of hiking through the local scenery.

High Gate Cabins are a selection of stunning, wooden cabins nestled into the countryside of Hutton John near Penruddock, Cumbria. The cabins are an excellent base for couples and friends alike, with a multitude of fantastic walks, watersports, and wildlife right on your doorstep. Each cabin benefits from off-road parking, pet-friendly accommodation, sleek interiors, and delightful outdoor spaces fitted with wood-fired hot tubs. For a farm shop and pub, head over to Penruddock, or venture to Pooley Bridge for a greater selection. Here you can walk beside Ullswater or try out watersports from the selection of facilities available. Encircled by picturesque scenery, Penrith, the nearest historic market town is surrounded offers a wide range of cafe's, restaurants, pubs, high street brands and independent shops for you to peruse at your leisure. A multitude of attractions are also available in the town, including Rheged with its cinema, shops and eateries, Penrith Castle, Penrith Beacon or Brougham Castle. Take a hike up the mighty Helvellyn or Skiddaw which stands overlooking the bustling market town of Keswick. POOLEY BRIDGE

Penrith 6 miles.

The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
