Windermere Lake Cruises is a leading tourist attraction operating in the Lake District on England’s largest lake. Steamers and Launches sail daily throughout the year with Summer season connections for Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway, The Lake District Visitor Centre (Brockhole), Fell Foot Country Park, Wray Castle and Ferry House (with connecting bus service for Hilltop and Hawkshead). We offer cruises from 30 minutes to 3 hours – or you can even spend all day on and around the lake with our fantastic ‘Freedom of the Lake’.

One of Lakeland’s best day out – Boat & Motor Museum.

Join the boat at Ambleside or Bowness and sail south to Lakeside where your dedicated bus will be waiting to transfer you to the Motor Museum. (bus runs daily in Summer season, weekends only in Winter). Alternatively your journey may start and finish at Lakeside or the Museum.

The Award winning museum has over 30,000 exhibits, the Campbell Bluebird Exhibition, Isle of Man TT tribute,  Motorists gift shop and the delightful Café Ambio with its stunning views over the River Leven.

Yellow, Red, Blue & Green Cruises

As well as the bus departure point for the Motor Museum, Lakeside, to the South, is home to the Lakes Aquarium and an ideal boarding point for a Steam train ride alongside the lovely River Leven. A regular ferry service in Summer season operates between Lakeside and Fell Foot Park. Fell Foot is ideal for families, with an adventure playground, rowing boat hire, café & award winning picnic areas. Bowness is a holiday town of shops, pubs, cafes & restaurants and five minutes walk from the pier is the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. From here catch the boat South, North or enjoy the relaxing 45 minute circular Islands cruise, contrasting scenery of mountains, wooded shorelines, and lovely tranquil bays. Ambleside, to the North is set amongest breathtaking majestic mountains and gentle rolling fell. The distintive & very attractive Lakeland village is alive with shops and cafes and wonderful walks.

Car-Free Cruises

Leave the car at Bowness and take advantage of the connecting boat & bus service to Beatrix Potter’s Hilltop, Hawkshead, Coniston or Grizedale. The Walkers ticket is a popular 3-boat & 2-hour amble along the western shoreline past Wray Castle to Ferry House via connecting boat services all along the lake.

Special events throughout year including Evening Buffet cruises and many more. What could be better than an evening cruise around Lake Windermere on a summer evening with food and entertainment. We run a 2 & ½ hour evening Buffet Cruises from 7 – 9.30pm from Bowness on one of our majestic ‘Steamers’.. We advise that you book well in advance by ringing 015394 43360
