“This property is one of the nicest I have stayed in in the Lake District and that is over 40+ years.”

Being in the centre of Keswick with parking makes it very convenient for local walks, shopping, eating out and takes the stress out of using the car. The facilities in the apartment are excellent and it is very comfortable. One niggle that others may have raised is the proximity of the deliveries to the supermarket next door, but that can be very useful too!

“We loved our stay here, great location for easy access to the shops, cafes, walks and lake of course!”

The apartment was super clean and comfortable. Two small issues, noise from the flat above and below did impact sleep a little, it was possible to hear people talking and opening and closing doors, using the loo etc. Secondly, the double bedroom window is a very large opening and leads straight onto the corridor to neighbours apartment. Unfortunately it didn't feel safe leaving it open whilst asleep, especially as the bed is directly under the window. Maybe a safety mechanism could be fitted so that it cannot be pushed open further, preventing intruders from climbing in. At the moment, once open, it can be easily pushed up further. Having said this, I would recommend Andra Ghyll, if you are a light sleeper ear plugs resolve the noise issue and a fan maybe if you have similar concerns about people climbing into open windows. We loved the welcome wine thank you and the lovely wall art etc. The kitchen is extremely well equipped for a small apartment.

Thoughtful touches with wine, biscuits, tea, coffee etc We did have an issue with cooker didn’t work phoned up owner & sykescottages who had to replace with a brand new cooker - all sorted in a couple of days.

It's location is ideally suited to attending the convention. All other amenities are very also handy; shops, bus station, lake. Good to have somewhere to park the car too. The flat was very comfortable, clean and tidy. We had everything we needed. Owners are very attentive and contactable if necessary.

Thanks for the welcome bottle too! Generally fairly quiet apart from a little road noise in the double room. Our only two suggestions for improvement were a socket for an electric shaver in the bathroom and some hotel-style shower gel/shampoos (I know Booth's is down the road but it would be nice).

) & a washer/dryer . In a perfect situation in the town literally walking distance to everything we didn't touch our car at all during our stay. The only negative I could find is the shower , although a perfectly good shower pressure is just far too low ! We will definitely return !

We really enjoyed our stay there the only thing to put us off returning are the steps, we are both Pensioners and my Husband finds stairs very difficult these days, we thought he would be able to manage one floor but he struggled.

It is really well maintained and equipped, and is such a comfortable holiday home. There is a lovely welcome from the owner and a lot of care is taken in presenting the flat so nicely. It is ideally situated for the Convention, for the town and shopping, and as a base for touring the wonderful Lakes and for enjoying the mountains and beautiful scenery. An allocated parking space is also very handy. We've now stayed here twice, and have booked already for next summer!

The apartment is very clean and comfortable and has everything that you would need. The only issues are the hot water, which has very low pressure, so takes ages to fill a sink and the shower isn’t great. The other issue is the main bedroom being right near the co op supermarket, so it’s very noisy at about 6.30ish when they are getting deliveries, but I know there’s nothing that an done about that

“It was a lovely apartment and close to everything and I would definitely stay there again,my only complaint is about the WiFi it had kids safe on it and we were unable to get to some sites,ie: bet365 my husband does like a bet at weekend and this was blocked and oddly enough it wouldn't let me look up menus in pubs very odd.”

“The apartment was in a great location, and was comfortable and well equipped.”

The dedicated parking space was a must. The area was quiet, apart from the trolleys being moved about at the supermarket next door, which made sure we never slept in! Only small niggles were the wardrobe in the bedroom (doors awkward to open) and a crack in the bedroom window, but would definitely stay here again.

and position in Keswick. Lounge was particularly comfortable with excellent TV. . Only disappointment was a plumbing problem in the bathroom with the bath. Water would not drain so only allowed one bath in the 5 days. Otherwise excellent flat . Shame about the weather but would recommend the flat.

...it is literally minutes from pubs and restaurants on the main street. The addition of having a dedicated/private car parking space is a bonus in a very busy town frequented by a lot of holiday makers. All fixtures and fittings in the flat were in good shape and in general a very comfortable place to stay....felt very much like "Home from Home" . I would certainly come back to Keswick and hopefully also stay in Andra Ghyll apartment. Sykes Holiday Cottages, were very professional with good communication throughout right from booking the flat,right through to actual holiday break.

We found as older people a slight problem with the shower over the bath x We would have felt a lot more secure getting in and out of the shower if there had been a grip bar fitted on the tiled wall . We will certainly be using again. Location could not be better, right near the centre of Keswick, supermarkets on the doorstep and main bus hub just across the road. We used a weekly bus rover ticket (excellent value) and didn't use the car once.

.no small step ladder I could not reach the top shelves…no dishwasher..quite expensive ..also a bit of a pain having to use a code every time to enter..However it was very central ..it was also difficult to find even using the sat nav … another complaint firstly having to visit the office to collect the keys from a one way street with no parking.I expected the key to be at the accommodation also having to return key to office..

Fabulous central location, parking, cosy, clean, warm, good facilities. Good communication with owners if needed. We experienced 4 seasons in one week so can state that the apartment is really comfortable in all weather. I would recommend this apartment and would definitely book again. (We had just one moan. We are 'shower freaks' and found the electric shower lovely and warm but a bit feeble).

Really convenient for the centre of Keswick, the shops and beautiful walks from the front door. Great that there is a parking space with the property. Everything you need for a stay is provided- i.e. hairdryer, iron & ironing board, can’t think of anything negative- only slight niggle was the low water pressure in the shower but it wasn’t really a big problem. Would definitely recommend to family and friends, we would love to stay here again.

“First impression when we entered the property was that it was incredibly clean and well presented.”

Very comfortable accommodation with everything we needed. Excellent location, easy to find with parking as described. Right in the heart of Keswick so walking to shops etc and the lake was great. If I was forced to find a negative it would be the low water pressure so the shower was not powerful but that's no big deal. The true test is "would we stay again?" and the answer to that is "definitely"

The property was modern, clean and tidy, it had everything we needed for a very enjoyable weeks stay in Keswick. The property located at the end of Keswick high street and has its own private parking space. It was just a small walk to the 'ferry launch', which takes people along Derwent lake to access some very nice walking areas (nice not to have to use the car).

“The flat is in a fantastic position in order to forget the car and enjoy the village of Keswick.”

Moreover, everything in the flat is very convenient and nothing is missing in the kitchen, so we could cook and stay in the flat as in our home. Maybe you could explain more clearly in the welcome e-mail where to park the car, we did not immediately get it and we parked the car in another place ... a lady came and asked us why we were parking in her place.

“The property was ideal for access to the town and Pubs and good parking, good property if you like being in the town centre , it is very well equipped and clean.”

Minor downside was it is very dated and needs a little updating especially the pink low level toilet that needs flushing 2 or 3 times at least to clear it, also the lighting in the lounge needs another small lamp or a dimmer switch ,at the moment you have a 5 bulb ceiling fitting very bright or a single table lamp in one corner very dim. But don't let this put you off all in all a good property. Also I was impressed with the booking agent, I Email the agent on Sunday to say only 1 of the 4 bulbs in the kitchen ceiling light bar was working and the internet hub kept dropping out, both were fixed Monday morning.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater.
