“This apartment is in a great position, just a slow 5 minutes walk from the Market Place, two restaurants immediately opposite with plenty more within minutes.”

It's also next door to a supermarket and 2 minutes from another. The kitchen is well fitted out but there's not a huge amount of work surface so I would want to prepare a big meal but who's cooking when there's so much else nearby? The living room is a good size but - unlike the picture on the website - most of it is taken up by a cream leather 3-piece suite. It's very comfy but it means the dining table is squashed into a corner and not easily useable without doing a lot of furniture moving. ...

Maybe it just needs the furniture re-arranging. The TV stand is also different from the one shown in the pictures - probably it's bigger, also taking up more space and more information is needed about how to work the Smart TV - I'd recommend making sure you know all your passwords to the various services you normally use or else the choice of channels is limited. The small bedroom with bunk beds is cosy but adequate, with good storage for clothes. The main bedroom is generous, the bed is comfy and there's loads of drawers and a good size wardrobe - more space than in some hotel rooms I've stayed in. The bathroom is fine but an extra grab-handle to help get in and out of the bath would be helpful for people like me who aren't very tall. Even better, change the bath for a walk-in shower, but I know that's my personal preference. The towels are not very generous and a bit thin - if you like a big bath towel bring your own. The listing mentions a balcony where you can drink a morning coffee - this is actually a walkway along the length of the building leading to the front doors of all the apartments (see the exterior photos). It also overlooks the car park and is north facing so not somewhere I would be happy spending 'social' time on it. Secondary double glazing has been added to the living room and main bedroom windows so the apartment is very soundproof. It was well tested while we were there because the Council decided to resurface the road outside and brought in huge and very noisy machines from 6pm - 3am every night. Once the window were closed we barely heard a thing. I would have liked to have given this apartment 5-stars but there were some niggles which could be rectified through some regular maintenance. Two of the four bedside lights didn't work because the on/off switch was broken. The shade on one of the floor standing lamps in the living room was damaged and needs replacing - it's possible the light bulb was too hot and melted the inner lining. The metal 'tray' for toiletries in the shower is loose and needs reattaching. The catch that should hold the venetian blind in the living room doesn't work. Just small frustrations but all easily sorted out. I would recommend this apartment to anyone with the caveat that there may be the odd thing that doesn't work as well as it could.

Thanks for your detailed feedback. I will share the maintenance issues with Lake Lovers as they manage the property. It has recently had new lounge furniture as well as new windows and secondary glazing so glad you benefited from this. Property Owner
