Great property - really nicely done out and decorated, well equipped, very well situated for exploring Keswick without needing to get in a car.

Parking for 2 cars was generally no problem, mostly got a space outside the house and only a couple of times had to park further down the street. Very short walk into town or the lovely Fitz park, only a short walk down to the lake and Friars crag. The shower is fantastic (though have to bend down if you’re tall!) and lovely fluffy bath sheets. Cleanliness was ok on the surface but many areas need a bit more attention - around windows, blinds, fireplace etc were quite grubby for example. There was no stool to sit at the dressing table in the single room, the double room at the back had no dressing table at all so had to share between guests. Travel cot was appreciated, though a highchair would be a bonus if providing for babies. Back yard with a gate was handy for the dog, though some pots and flowers would really brighten the space up. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend, just a few minor details to feedback that could be improved :)

Dovestones was absolutely perfect for us, the facilities were fantastic, location in the town is ideal and to top it off the garage at the rear was a bonus for the bikes.

We loved our stay just as much as our first stay . Cottage clean and well presented . All our needs fulfilled, just one slight problem no light in the garden . Which was a problem when letting our dog out . Great location . Definitely will be booking again

Perfect cottage for a weekend getaway.

Had everything you could possibly want there. Beautifully furnished. Sky TV, gorgeous wood burning stove and was decorated for Christmas. Had one issue with a radiator that would not come on in one of the bedrooms but contacted the company and they brought a radiator out for us until they could come and fix the faulty one Would not hesitate to rebook this cottage that’s within 5 mins of the shops and bars. Superb!

Nice cottage but unfortunately there was a leak in the rear bedroom ceiling prior to our stay which meant the floor was soaking wet and bucket left in the room + damp.

We weren’t informed of this prior to our stay which was a shame when we checked in. Like other reviews- no fire wood/kindling/ no tea bags or milk in fridge which are small things but could be improved for future guests. The cottage itself is in a great location and has good amenities and comfy beds.

Would recommend and stay again. In case you are not aware (and this didn’t affect out stay but think you may like to know) There is a bulb out on the stairs, the front guttering isn’t connected to water just pours down the front of the house and the back gutter over the patio door does similar. This is the 2nd time we've stayed here, and it didn't disappoint.

Fantastic house and location, again we had a fantastic time, just rebooked for same time next year.

Fantastic cottage for a week in the Lakes, it had everything that we needed and was really comfortable to stay in and cook in the evenings after a day of walking.

All of the beds were comfortable and the property was very clean. We will definitely be booking again!

Second stay at Dovestones so quickly felt at home.

Warm, cosy and well equipped. Good location for town and walks. Only found out on the last day that the Kingfisher chippy sells a range of other meat to go along with their excellent Cumberland sausage - filling a gap for the much missed butchers! We'll be back.

Lovely comfortable house in a great location.

Had no problem with parking. I would have given 5 star but for the fact there was no welcome pack. Not even a spot of milk for a coffee or a single log for the log burner. In 15 years of renting holiday cottages we have never stopped anywhere that didn’t leave a welcome pack. Just feels it lacks the personal touch. Overall though we had a great stay.

Lovely house, extremely clean, very nicely renovated, and well-equipped.

It was about a ten minute walk into the centre of Keswick. Street parking was busy but we always found a spot fairly close to the house.

Very comfortable with everything you need. Would definitely book again. Only very minor grumble was a couple of the downstairs radiators didn’t seem to fully heat up so it did take a while to warm the siting room. Other than that we had a perfect stay.

A very comfortable house in a great location, an easy walk into Keswick and we had no problems with parking.

We enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay at Dovestones.

The cottage was really well equipped and very homely. Parking was never an issue and it is just a short walk into town & to the lake. The cottage is lovely and dog friendly with an enclosed garden, with a dog wash and throws for the sofa. The beds were very comfortable and there were hairdryers in all the bedrooms. We will hopefully book again.

The property is generally lovely and just what was needed.

The bathroom vanity unit under the sink is tired there’s obviously been a water leak. The selection of kitchen pots and pans was okay but there was a frying pain that needs to be replaced as the non stick layer was scratched and peeling, needless to say we didn’t use it.Parking was a pain, you’re lucky if you can park on an adjoining street you’ve got no chance of parking by the property which makes unpacking and packing difficult. This is probably the fifth or sixth cottage we’ve stayed in, and as I said overall it’s lovely, the dining room table is just what you want to sit around, eat, drink and play card games. We look for large open plan areas where we can all sit down together.

A perfect holiday house, really clean and comfortable.

It’s just a short walk from Fitz park and the town centre so in a really good location. The area the house is in is very quiet which is lovely too! The only thing that would have been better for us is if there had been a high chair at the property to save us bringing one but still a brilliant stay, thank you!

Dovestones is a really lovely property and a real home from home.

It’s beautifully decorated, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The linen and towels were of high quality and beds extremely comfortable. The owners have paid a lot of attention to detail to provide an excellent holiday home. We were a couple with a very active dog and I was concerned about the small courtyard. However Fritz Park is less than a 10 minute walk and it’s wonderful for dogs! Our border collie had a wonderful week! The proximity of the property to the centre of Keswick (a ten minute walk) is a huge plus point. Also Derwent Water is so close and we would definitely suggest the 10 mile circular walk around the lake. We absolutely loved our stay at Dovestones, we would highly recommend the property and would definitely like to come back in the future.

We stayed in this property last year and noted that the shower screen let's water out where it joins the wall.

This year it is still doing it, so hadn't been addressed. Also there was an unusual pleasant smell in the downstairs area, the source of which we couldn't identify. Otherwise the property was beautifully presented and very comfortable.

My wife, myself & our two adult daughters had a great stay at Dovestones, the cottage was very clean, comfortable, well equipped & had tasteful decoration & furniture.

The quiet location was perfect both for the town centre & local walks (10 minutes from Derwent Water).We would definitely recommend to others & we would like to return in the future.

Superb property with all modern cons and fittings, beds were very comfortable and kitchen was very well kitted out.

The only negative we had was that you could smell dog on the sofa, but I suppose there isn’t much you can do about that if owners don’t put a blanket to protect it.

Well thought out accommodation with nice touches.

Having use of a garage was really helpful for us as we cycle. The garage door lock is somewhat tricky and I did think at one time we would have to leave our bikes with you!!! (Just kidding) Patio slabs like those next door would of course be lovely but we would like them at home too! Very central for all the lovely features of Keswick! We loved our stay!! Thank you.

Dovestones is a home away from home comfortable very well equipped close to town centre we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely love to go back the only thing that would improve the stay would be a out side set of garden seats for those warm nights our little pet had a lovely time lots of pubs and places in surrounding area we could take her thank you for allowing us to have a lovely stay.

A beautiful property and so tastefully, comprehelsively and thoughtfully decorated and equipped.

However, I noticed a few issues, like the curtain rail in the single bedroom that only had 3 points of contact and fell down during our stay, and a couple of wall switches that were loosely screwed into the wall. I must say that the curtain rail was fixed as soon as I reported it, so good on the company for their response.

A super presented, spacious and comfortable cottage in the perfect location for great walks and for wandering around the town of Keswick.

Unless you want to explore the lakes further afield, you don't even need to use your car! The cottage was spotless, well decorated with great facilities. Will definitely be back :o)

Absolutely stunning property.

We couldn’t work out how to turn the heating up (it was a snowy weekend) and the owner responded immediately by turning it up remotely! Great property 5 minutes walk from the centre of Keswick. Very comfortable - will be booking again! Thank you.

Absolutely lovely cottage within walking distance of Keswick.

Clean, comfortable and spacious, with a well equipped kitchen. Some of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. Shower may be a little low for those of the taller variety. Wouldn’t recommend if you wanted outdoor space as the yard is not really the best to sit out in, however there is plenty of green space just outside the front door. Would definitely return.

Fabulous cottage!

! It was immaculate and welcoming when we arrived, very spacious so as a family of 4 we had plenty of room. Some feedback would be to try and put some plastic cups and plates/bowls in the cottage for young children to use. Also it would have been nice if there were a few more books on the shelf and a few more board games in the cupboard.

Ideally, it would have a second toilet or en-suite.

Otherwise, the property was beautifully decorated, there was lots of cupboard space and it was really comfortable. The house is a short walk from town which meant that it was really quiet.

Dovestones is a beautiful, spacious, well equipped mid terraced holiday home with luxurious touches throughout.

The house is immaculate. Great care and thoughtfulness has clearly gone into its presentation and facilities. The beds are luxuriously comfy and the supplied towels are spa like! The kitchen is the best equipped we have stayed in and the lounge is cosy and comfortable to relax in at the end of the day. The neighbourhood is quiet and location convenient for Keswick’s centre, lake side and the local Fitz Park. We had an altogether wonderful week and hope to be back at Dovestones soon!
