While the location was lovely, the property itself felt tired and poorly maintained.
On arrival we found hairs on the bedding and mattresses, and the mattress protectors were stained and clearly overdue for replacement. The bedding had an awful sweat/grease smell to it. The carpets throughout the property were heavily stained and marked, giving the impression they hadn’t been professionally cleaned for a long time. Several cushions also had visible marks and stains- believed to be saliva.
The kitchen equipment also needs attention. The frying pan was in very poor condition and should really be replaced. The furniture showed signs of wear, including damage to the sofa, which further added to the feeling that maintenance has been neglected. I believe the sofa was supposed to be cream, however it was that discoloured and stained, it looked a dirty yellow shade.
Skirting boards were thick of dust and there was litter left beside both bedsides (dirty tissues and earbuds).
For the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and upkeep. With better housekeeping and routine maintenance this could be a lovely place to stay, but unfortunately our experience did not meet expectations.
