“FOREVASINGLEMAN myself stayed at The Old Hayloft in Keswick town centre on Packhorse Court on my happy own of course for 1 week from 4pm BST Saturday 28 June 2025 to 10am BST Saturday 5 July 2025.”
The holiday flat itself had a small welcome pack for me on my arrival, mainly a few coffee sachets, a few tea bag sachets, a few sugar sachets, a few milk sachets and a few instant coffee pods which i never did use. A few bad points to start with, namely windows, one in the bathroom, and one in the lounge diner area did not open at all, and was locked shut. One other lounge window opened and closed suddenly and i had to prop this window open with a pair of my scissors to let air in, while the other lounge window did indeed open and close. The bedroom velux window opened and closed automatically, and also automatically closed when the weather outside did precipitate (rain falling). One other surprise was the fridge freezer, especially the freezer compartment on my arrival day was half replete of ice already, so i had to turn off the fridge freezer for several hours on my first day to defrost the ice, which was an inconvenience initially, and lastly the heated or supposedly heated towel rail in the shower room did not work at all, as it was apparently locked, and no instructions as such on working that item in question. Apart from these few bad points, it was largely outweighed by the holiday flat's good points, namely it's Freesat Satellite TV, the wi-fi or internet broadband worked well, the double bed for one was comfortable, the shower was ideal, and being in the summer the heating was unused practically whatsoever, the location itself slap bang in Keswick town centre is ideal for me, being a non-vehicle driver/ owner. In all a largely good holiday i did enjoy indeed, and i may consider a 2nd stay in the future, provided it is still to be utilised as a holiday let, as rumour is circulating this holiday let has reportedly been put up for sale, so it's future as a holiday let is now i believe up in the air as it happens.
