“All fine with the exception of the cooker.”

Property description says oven is dual microwave / oven this is totally untrue. No instructions on how to use the cooker, even when scanning the QR code. Turning the top hob on was a task of hope and see, never mastered it in 6 days. The oven had lots of settings, but no obvious way to engage these. We used it the first evening through trail and error. 40 minutes to warm a chilled meal. We had to turn the oven off at the main fuse box, no combination of switches or dials would do this. Never attempted to use the oven again. Downstairs TV would show you multiple sky (I think) channels. Mainly old quiz shows, escape to the country, antique road shows etc etc. BBC / ITV were not available. We have a dog so Sykes, and a rival company to you, are our first consideration. Rival company you can generally contact the host directly before during and after your stay. This is a massive decision making plus when booking a stay. Stay = holiday for most which should be relaxing. Sykes fail on this account.

We are sorry that you struggled with the hob and oven/microwave. Whilst it may appear to be an oven it is a dual microwave and oven. The instructions were in the drawer next to the oven. We appreciate your feedback and we have now also uploaded the instructions to the guest information webpage for future guests - thank you for bringing this to our attention. In the event of needing to contact us, our telephone number is on every page on the guest information site, and I believe also on booking instructions. The upstairs smart TV is connected to a FreeSat (satellite) service providing access to all the normal terrestrial channels, in addition to the channels available on the internet through apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, ITVx and All4. The downstairs smart TV has access to the apps but not the satellite channels. We hope that you were still able to enjoy the glorious views and our beautifully refurbished little cottage.
