Song “Very happy with the apartment; well equipped and excellent location.”
Even with an EV charging point, I will drive my EV next time. Highly recommended, definitely will come again.

- Song, July 2023Thank you for taking the time to leave this good feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed staying at Jenkins Crag. It was a shame about the wet weather during your holiday, and we hope it is better on your next visit to the Lake District. The EV charger is a recent addition and not available to guests at present, but we are progressing with the supplier to setup a guest login and account. Best wishes, Ian – Property Owner Property Owner

Fiona “Absolutely superb apartment.”
It is obvious that a lot of thought and work has gone into this well equipped and beautifully furnished holiday apartment. The only slight negative would have to be the water pressure especially since the en-suite shower was so luxurious. We throughly enjoyed our week at Jenkins Cragg and will definitely book again. Thank you

We are delighted that you enjoyed your holiday and staying at Jenkins Crag, and noticed the thought that has gone into equipping and furnishing the holiday apartment to a high standard. We will investigate the water supply pressure issue. Very happy that you be returning, and we look forward to welcoming you. Best wishes, Ian – Property Owner Property Owner

Jan “We absolutely love this place - its comfort, its views and its convenience for travel are second to none.”
That’s why we have booked again for next year! Jan
- Jan, September 2022Kevin “This was a great place to stay.”
The owners had obviously given a lot of thought to the set up. I think a small welcome pack i.e. tea and milk would be useful as there are no local shops if you arrive late.
- Kevin, September 2022Janet “Beautiful apartment with stunning views!”
A large, well appointed space with lots of useful equipment-coffee machine, cafetière,every piece of cutlery you could ever need.Lovely having two bathrooms and spacious bedrooms.A very quiet location apart from building work going on in another apartment.Only one negative,as someone with osteoarthritis, I found the steep drive up to the apartment difficult to climb.
- Janet, July 2022Amanda “We had an amazing stay at the beautiful Jenkins Crag.”
The apartment was spotless and very spacious. The weather was fantastic, and the apartment was in a great location for exploring the area. An allocated parking space was also a huge bonus to staying here during a busy time of the year. It was wonderful to sit in the lounge and on the balcony and take in the view. We were also lucky to spot a deer on the hillside. Would love to visit again. Thank you for such great hospitality.
- Amanda, July 2022Muhammad “In simple terms we loved it!”
. Lovely apartment, exceptionally cleaned. Very quickly you feel like it's your home. Towels, cleaning products provided. Slept like a log each night thank to the super comfy bed., If only we could have stayed longer but we only booked a week, we will be back soon!
- Muhammad, May 2022Darrel “The price of this accommodation had increased by some 50% since we last visited in 2018 - we booked anyway because at the time there was supposed to be a scarcity of UK holiday availability due to COVID.”
The property itself was as we expected, being comfortable and very clean. There was, however, no "welcome pack" this time and so we couldn't even make a cup of tea on arrival. A few weeks before our stay we had been warned that an adjacent apartment was to be having renovations carried out and that "it was hoped that the noise would not spoil our stay". After protesting, we eventually received £50 compensation but we would much rather have had the peace and quiet we were looking forward to instead of afternoons of drilling and hammering noise. The apartment is in a very good location and generally met our needs but the increased price we will think very hard about visiting again.
- Darrel, May 2022Janet “A very comfortable and quiet apartment with a really well equipped kitchen.”
Lovely to just sit and look at lake Windermere, but also in a great position for getting around.
- Janet, April 2022Michael “Everything was excellent at this property stayed here twice this year and will be booking for early next year”
- Michael, October 2021H “Great apartment just like before.”
Shame the price increases for 2022 mean we won’t be staying here next year. An impression is that Hearts of the Lakes has lost the high levels of customer service and care that we had grown used to. A lot of your target market prefer to deal with people rather than a difficult to navigate web site and cumbersome phone system.
- H, September 2021Ray “It was what was said on the tin, which isn't always so.”
- Ray, June 2021Anonymous “Lovely stay with amazing weather!”
Very impressed with this property! The views are incredible and make it well worth staying here.
- Anonymous, Dec 2019Mrs Green “Another comfortable and relaxing stay.”

- Mrs Green, Dec 2019Anonymous “Excellent well equipped flat with every comfort you could wish for.”
The best holiday home we have stayed in by far.
- Anonymous, Dec 2019Mrs Lanham “Our 4th stay at this property, which I think speaks volumes.”
Never fails to please.
- Mrs Lanham, Dec 2019Mr Green “'Very satisfied' does not apply to Jenkins Crag!”
The property is stunning! In a great location, beautifully maintained with EVERYTHING you could possibly need/want, and more.
- Mr Green, Dec 2019Mr Warmishan “We have stayed in this property before & keep returning.”
Only problem we have ever had is scarce hot water in cooler months.
- Mr Warmishan, Dec 2019Mrs Blair “First class service in first class accommodation.”
- Mrs Blair, Dec 2019Woodley “Jenkin's Crag is wonderful: cosy, comfy and very convenient.”

About the location
AMBLESIDE
Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
