    “The flat was lovely with lots of space, character and plenty of extras in case you run out of anything.”

    Kitchen cupboard well stocked with coffee, UHT milk, sugar, tea and coffee pods (no decaf though so bring your own if this is preferred). A couple of extra bits supplied in the bathroom too. Off road parking is rare for the area so this was big bonus! Generally, we had a good stay but I feel there is some room for improvement. The bathroom is in need of an upgrade or, at least, a deep clean (specifically shower, sink, sink plug and floors around the edges). Cobwebs on the walls and dead flys ...

Cobwebs on the walls and dead flys all on the ceiling (no idea how they got stuck up there). I dont know if this is a Lakelovers cleaners issue as the last three properties we have let have been lacking in cleanliness... The towel rail is slowly dripping brown liquid too, on the floor and the bathmat we were using for the week and the shower drips after use so these things may need a repair. I personally didnt find the bed comfortable but this really is down to personal preference. I used a single duvet to cushion underneath which did help. The mattress did dip slightly in the middle too so I did spin it around which helped. The two pillows were quite flat so I used extra pillow from single bed. The living room could benefit from some cosy blankets (again, we used a single duvet) but this room felt like the better room. Good size couch, we found it comfortable to stretch out on together but taller people might struggle! Kitchen was well equipped and stocked with cleaning products, basic food supplies but missing some key items - tongs, pizza cutter and baking trays (only drip trays provided for oven). Unfortunately, we did have noisy guests in the holiday let above (dog barking and running around, sounds like a herd of elephants in these old creaky buildings!). With all these things combined, we wouldnt personally use this let again for a holiday which is a shame as it is a lovely base... thanks for the stay and wishing you all the best in the future.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes.
