“This was a very unpleasant stay.”
It was the dirtiest property I have ever stayed in. It does not appear that the kitchen was cleaned at all — the hob was filthy, with spills and rubbish from previous occupants left on the side. The same applied to the second bathroom: a soap spill was untouched, a previous occupant’s shower gel/shampoo was left turning brown on the shower dial, and a broken shower part was left on the sink.
There were cobwebs, dust, and spiders throughout. The bath plug was clearly broken on arrival, but no one bothered to fix it. Advertised features such as a handheld shower over the bath and visitor parking spaces were missing. Two of the three kitchen blinds were missing cords, so they could not be closed.
It is an absolute shame because, if the apartment had been properly cleaned and maintained, we would have loved to book again. The views were great, and the apartment was comfortable, though tired — but the lack of cleanliness made it unacceptable.
As the owner I visit stay regularly and also frequently spot check and in 8 years of owning Sethera have never found the property as you describe. That said you identify a number of minor diy issues now fixed and I thank you for that. I know you have been in direct contact with Sykes and will not comment further.
