“Absolutely lovely!”

Fabulous garden - very big, very pretty, and dog friendly (secure). Good power showers, big soft fluffy towels, and very comfy beds. Plenty of space for everyone. 4 bedrooms and a playroom with Wii player and games (not used as we spent most of our time outdoors). Maps of the area with walks etc were available, which were really useful! TV okay, but couldn't get the hang of how to find many channels other than basic terrestrial ones... WiFi fine, but, bizarrely, didn't work in the back ...

“This is the second time we have booked Langtree for our family holiday, and we will be booking again.”

It is a perfect house for us - clean, comfortable, lovely outdoor space. The location is great with walks from outside the door, the beach just along the road, and a playground and a local shop just a few minutes walk away.

“Excellent property, clean and well maintained.”

Plenty spacious both inside and out for parents, grandparents and a toddler. Perfect location for access to Arnside too. Phone signal was poor, which was to be expected, but WiFi coverage was great across the property. The TVs were slow and clunky to use, but this was only a problem for the toddler’s bedtime!

“We loved our stay at Langtree.”

It was ideal for our family gathering which included our 6 grandchildren aged from 1yr to 21yrs, and our dog Charlie (small Cavapoo). The accommodation provided all the facilities we needed, including baby gates fitted to the stairs on all levels to keep the little ones safe and Charlie contained. This was a great base to explore the local area and for road links to the lakes. Absolutely love Arnside and hope to be back soon.

“We celebrated a 40th birthday.”

. there was plenty of space for a family of 8. Lovely comfortable and clean holiday home. Well equipped with everything you need and more. Beautiful garden, which thanks to the dry weather we were able to enjoy. The house is well located and we enjoyed some beautiful walks from the doorstep. We all agreed what a fantastic place this is and hopefully will be visiting again. Thank you for the wine and Kendal mint cake, a lovely touch and much enjoyed.

“A lovely, spacious house in a great location.”

Well equipped kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. Nice large fenced garden. Easy parking. Quiet location. Lots of information provided by hosts and the welcome goodies were appreciated. The only point to note is that the property is listed as dog friendly, and does allow a dog, but dogs are not allowed upstairs or in the bedrooms, the floor and stairs are hardwood, and although the garden is fenced, there is a small gap at the back which leads to the neighboring garden. So not super dog friendly if that is your main concern. Great for humans though.

“Lovely stay over Christmas in a beautiful home.”

An issue with the oven was resolved promptly - no mean feat given it was a few days before Christmas Day. The accommodation was spacious for 7 of us, it was warm and both the Christmas decorations and welcome pack were a nice touch. The garden is large with some spectacular views. The dog was very happy! Arnside itself is lovely. The row of shops by the shore saved the day for last minute present buying. Both cafes that we tried were great. All in all a relaxing stay.

The views are amazing and the large garden a delight and fully enclosed so safe for our little dog. The local beach is a 20 minute walk away. Our stay was made even better by the Autumn sunshine and we visited other beaches at Silverdale, Morecambe & Grange. Little shop in the village and supermarket just 5 minutes away in a car. Booked again for next year.

The house is spacious and has far reaching views across the estuary towards the hills of lake district. The garden also has two lovely sitting areas. There are a variety of walks from the front door together with convenient shops, pubs and cafes. We also enjoyed making good use of the train service to travel to Leighton Moss in one direction and to Holker Hall across the estuary. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

“Langtree is a lovely cottage, accommodating 7 adults well.”

We spent the week exploring the local area and returning to the comfort of Langtree and its well equipped kitchen for a home cooked meal and a relaxing evening. The garden is really nice and kept our dog secure, it provided a gorgeous sunny spot to sit in the afternoon too. All the rooms were comfortable and the log burner in the lounge was a welcome addition. We had a little problem with the heating when we arrived and the owners came straight to Langtree to try and sort the problem out, they were really lovely and went out of their way to sort the problem The surrounding area is beautiful, with so many walks straight from the door, plus RSPB Leighton Moss just a few minutes drive away and a train which takes you over the estuary in five minutes. A very nice place to stay, we would recommend it.

The house was very clean, beds extremely comfortable in fact I would say the house was spacious and exceptional and obviously the modernisation of the property had been carried out to a very high standard. The house was located in a quiet location, but within easy reach of a small supermarket by foot or by car to the village of Arnside with some nice shops and pubs.

The location is excellent - short walk to Arnside front, pub, cafes, station, etc. Bonuses also were the local well stocked shop and playground for the little ones. In a lovely location ( although be warned if you have mobility problems it is at the top of a steep hill). The facilities were excellent and the garden is beautiful, which we did manage to use when the sun shone. The garden was fully enclosed for our dog and she loved it. We will definitely be recommending it to our family and friends.

“A lovely house, very clean with an awesome view.”

A few very minor points... One of the single beds was very squeaky as were a few doors but nothing a drop of oil couldn't fix. It did prove difficult to unlock the bathroom door from time to time. Could do with some shelves in the en suite as nowhere to put anything and a bin in the bedroom would be handy. And finally, a sharp knife or knife sharper is needed as they are very blunt! As i said, only minor The good points outshine... Very clean and smelt nice, lovely layout, perfect situation, good sized rooms, friendly neighbours both sides, lovely welcome pack, excellent stair gates, loved the wii 8, loved the coffee machine, great sized kitchen. All good and happy campers

“Lovely house.”

Nice big table and chairs on the rear patio was lovely in the olevening sun. Great views across the estuary from the house. Would have liked either a knife sharpener or sharp knives in the kitchen. Would have been better to have more cutlery and cups. We found ourselves putting on the dishwasher once but running out of cups and cutlery at lunchtime. Apart from that it was a lovely house.

“A lovely house and spotlessly clean.”

Was great to be able to take the dog with the garden being enclosed with maybe 4-5ft high fencing Would have worked slightly better if the single beds did not have the wooden ends on as the height of one of the party made them unsuitable for him so the day bed was used instead. The property generally had everything you needed, always appreciate a dishwasher! so the only mildly negative feedback from our group was more settee cushions and a regular teapot. Would have no problem highly recommending the property and its lovely area.

Managed a party of 8 plus dog without difficulty. Garden ideal for the dog. Good walks up to the Knott, across to Silverdale and round the Bay. Quick and easy access into the Lakes. Good artisan shops in Arnside. Excellent fish and chips. Outstanding curry house in Milnthorpe.

We are very sorry that the drive was an issue. the property is built on a hill making the driveway steep in some areas leading up to the level garden at the back. Due to the layout of house having many flights of stairs to the different levels, we thought the property wouldn't be looked at for people with mobility issues so the drive was overlooked, sorry. We will look into this in the description and thank you for bringing it to our attention. The fridge freezer is a large free standing family larder, unfortunately the kitchen area can't cater for anything larger. “Nice big house, loads of parking, well equipped kitchen and bathrooms to spare.”

The garden is big with decking, patio and huge lawn. Arnside centre is 10 minutes walk away and is a really nice spot. Good pubs especially the Albion, bakers, Fish and Chip shop what’s not too like. Handy base for visiting the lakes or walking etc. Oh and there’s two mini supermarkets nearby. We loved it.

The location was great, short walk to local shops and pubs for food etc. The house was stunning and didn't lack anything that was needed for our stay. All of the bedrooms were great, well furnished and comfortable. The house was large and perfect for 6 of us and a puppy. We loved the garden and it was safe so we didn't have to worry about our dog going out without being watched constantly. Ample parking at the property and easy to get to. Also lovely local walks in the area with the dog and easy to access other parts of the lakes from. Would definitely return to Langtree - the owners have created a lovely place to stay!

“We were gobsmacked on entering this accommodation.”

It was spotless, spacious and quirky. The views were great. The garden was amazing and the kids and the dog loved it. We had a few lunches outside. We walked loads, into the town and in the local area, it was such a lovely place, a lovely little park within 5 mins walk for the children, also two well priced shops. The accommodation was well equiped. We were left a bottle of wine and some Mint Kendall bars which we ended up hooked on. The dog was also left some treats. Would definitely recommend.

The property

Langtree is a wonderfully appointed, semi-detached cottage resting just on the edges of the pretty village of Arnside, in Cumbria.

Set over three floors and boasting four bedrooms; a second floor double with en-suite bathroom, a second floor double and twin room followed by a day bed (can only be as 2 singles), sleeping eight people altogether.

There is also a bathroom, upper ground floor shower room, kitchen, living/dining room with woodburning stove.

Outside is an enclosed garden at the rear with a lawned area and patio with furniture, as well as ample off-road parking.

Note: One well-behaved dog welcome.

About the location

ARNSIDE

Kendal 10 miles; Windermere 17 miles.

Arnside is situated on the southernmost tip of the Lake District in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where low limestone hills, marshy plains and deciduous woodlands characterise the surrounding land. This former fishing port has retained many of the features from its past. The beautiful pier and port areas of the village offer stunning views across the Kent Estuary, as well as providing an enduring reminder of Arnside's illustrious history. To the south of the village are the 15th century Pele Towers, which were constructed to defend against the marauding Scots. The local surrounding area is a nature lover's paradise with stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks through countryside alive with rare plants, trees and wildlife. The internationally renowned Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve is also just one mile away. Guided walks across the Kent Estuary are available, showing the full splendour of the shore and surrounding area. Within easy touring distance are the Lake District and Lune Valley, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland.
