“We did enjoy our holiday at your property.”

However we had some issues with health and safety. There was a door in the top bathroom that seemed to lead to a direct drop onto a skylight. Granted the door was screwed shut but our young families on the top floor felt unsafe because of this.In addition the rug in the hallway was a slip hazard and the front room mat was curled and our 89 year old guest nearly fell over it a few times. The radiator in this room did not work so we relied on the electric fire only to heat this big room which was not adequate. Otherwise the house was warm. There was a lack of instructions as to how things worked and where e.g garden keys could be found. There were many toilets/ showers which was great but not handsoap in every one. Also a cafetiere and teapot would have been a good addition. As potentially the house caters for 16 there was not enough glasses to have one each at a single sitting and no suitable plastic beakers for children. The beds on the whole were comfortable. One of the single beds on the top floor was missing a slat. As I said previously we did enjoy our stay in spite of these negative comments, but having stayed in Sykes properties before, this was sadly not at the same standard.
