    “The cottage is a lovely barn conversion in a gorgeous tranquil location.”

    There is a smaller cottage to rent next door which was occupied while we were there but the walls are so thick you would have never known. You can walk from the front door to Cartmel about 1.5 miles away. Very pretty garden and bird feeders everywhere - lovely! The owners are very friendly and helpful and live nearby - so there if you need anything but otherwise leave you to it. The bedrooms are spacious with huge , very comfortable beds each with its own bathroom. The hot water is instant ...

We stayed in November and the heating maintained a very comfortable temperature. We slept really well. The views are stunning and you have no passing traffic so very safe for children and dogs. No parking issues at all. Ticked every single box for us snd we would highly recommend.

The property

You enter this lovely semi-detached barn conversion into a glass porch where you can take off your boots after a day spent walking.

This then takes you through to the open plan living area which has a high vaulted ceiling with feature beams.

There is a limestone fireplace which houses the gas woodburner-effect stove and a patio door out to the front of the cottage.

One of the bedrooms is set on the ground floor and has an en-suite with bath and shower for convenience.

The galleried landing then leads to the second bedroom and the family bathroom.

Outside is a private patio area where you can enjoy breakfast in the summer months and the shared gardens.

Grange-over-Sands 2 miles; Bowness on Windermere 12 miles.

The historic, South Lakeland village of Cartmel is renowned as the prettiest village in the Lake District. The Priory Church, one of the finest ecclesiastical buildings in the north of England, remains the heart of the community with its gatehouse forming the entrance to the village. The village features pretty streamside walks, quaint cobbled streets littered with antique shops, a charming gift shop, welcoming, traditional pubs serving real ale, the nationally acclaimed, Michelin Star awarded L'Enclume restaurant, and the Cartmel Village shop, which sells the famous sticky toffee pudding. Take advantage of excellent walking opportunities amidst beautiful, unspoilt countryside, visit The National Hunt Racecourse, Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition, Lakeland Motor Museum and Holker Hall with its spectacular gardens, all of which are close by.
