    “Edgemere Retreat is in an ideal location for exploring both the stunning countryside as well as the towns and villages in the surrounding South Lakes.”

    We did three beautiful walks and enjoyed visiting Cartmel and Grange-Over-Sands during our short stay. The house was beautifully clean, comfy and functional with some good facilities. The dogs loved being able to roam outside in the secure patio area meaning we could relax and enjoy the views. I would agree with other reviews, however, the house does get incredibly hot downstairs. The sun blasts in through the patio door and fixed windows and that, together with the heating and lighting, ...

The dogs loved being able to roam outside in the secure patio area meaning we could relax and enjoy the views. I would agree with other reviews, however, the house does get incredibly hot downstairs. The sun blasts in through the patio door and fixed windows and that, together with the heating and lighting, means the heat just increases. We had sunny but quite windy weather so we couldn’t leave the door open as there was no hook to ensure it didn’t slam shut. Would benefit from an update on the information book, measuring jug and a corkscrew, but other than that we would definitely go back to Edgemere Cottages. Thank you for a super stay!

We now provide both a contact number and WhatsApp so guests can have it adjusted remotely, as everyone has different comfort levels.
