“The property has many positives, with large bedrooms either en-suite and parking (which is a a definite plus in the area) along with being an easy walk into Cartmel.”

The property lacks some of the equipment and accessories that we have experience in other properties: no welcome pack, no kitchen roll and we only had the dregs of a bottle of washing up liquid. The kitchen has lots of storage but does not have a lot of equipment/ utensils e.g no small pan, corkscrew, pizza cutter etc. Not a major issue but given the relative remoteness of the property more equipment to cook with would have been useful and are things we have had in other properties. The bar stools in the kitchen were well used with two that were not usable (leaving only two out of four that could be comfortably used which was frustrating for a family of three). The stool also had dog hairs over the base of the stools. The general living area has two large sofas but feels a bit sparse and could do with some further furniture. Other properties we have stayed in have board games and books, which are a nice addition, so would recommend investing in some for future guests. There is no washing machine, which again is not a major issue but tends to be included in most properties in the area and would have been useful to throw muddy clothes in after walks. Overall it is a perfectly comfortable cottage but feels quite limited in its homely features.

We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the spacious bedrooms, en-suite facilities, private parking and convenient location within walking distance of Cartmel. It's always encouraging to hear what guests have enjoyed about their stay. We also appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the kitchen equipment, welcome items and overall furnishings. Guest feedback is invaluable in helping us improve, and we will review your comments carefully. We are already investigating the condition of the bar stools following your observations, and we apologise if this detracted from your stay. We have also raised the housekeeping comments regarding cleanliness around the stools. With regard to the washing machine, this is not currently listed as an amenity provided at the property, but we appreciate that it would be a useful addition for some guests, particularly those enjoying walks in the area. Thank you for your suggestions regarding books, games and additional homely touches. These are helpful recommendations that we will certainly consider as we continue to improve the guest experience . We are delighted that, overall, you found the cottage comfortable and enjoyed your stay, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Paul & the Edgemere Team Property Owner
