The property

Fellside Lodge is a delightful, semi-detached cottage situated on the edge of Bowness-on-Windermere, in the heart of the Lake District. Boasting three floors of wonderful living, this homely abode is a great choice for families or groups of friends seeking exploration of this magnificent National Park. After parking up in the off-road parking space, step inside through the porch, before finding the bright and airy sitting room, complete with two plush sofas, a Smart TV and a woodburning stove, creating a cosy ambiance for unwinding. The chef of the group can get to work in the kitchen, housing a range of appliances including a double gas oven and hob, American-style fridge/freezer and dishwasher, while the utility room offers a washing machine and tumble dryer, ensuring you are well-equipped. Serve home-cooked meals at the dining table, popping open a bottle of wine and enjoying the company of each other as the woodburning stove offers a gentle warmth. Stairs from the sitting room leads to a lower-ground-floor bedroom, home to a king-size bed alongside a beautiful freestanding bath, providing a lovely spot for a lazy soak, while there is also an en-suite shower. The other bedrooms can be found on the first-floor, including a super-king-size which can be arranged as a twin to allow for flexible sleeping arrangements, and a king-size which benefits from a lavish en-suite shower room. Both rooms are complimented with wooden features and thoughtful decorations, and they are served by a spacious bathroom. All bedrooms include a professional standard hairdryer. To the exterior of Fellside Lodge is an enclosed patio where you can dine alfresco style on a balmy summer evening. Recently installed for 2022 a new 6 seater hot tub for guest to enjoy. There is also a garage where bikes, canoes or outdoor equipment can be stored. When you’re ready to explore, stroll into the centre of Bowness to find a plethora of superb bars and restaurants, cosy pubs and ice cream shops, along with fascinating attractions such as The World of Beatrix Potter and the Windermere Jetty Museum, where you can learn about the history of the lakes. Lace up your walking boots and head off on foot to explore the beautiful landscapes of the Lake District, offering many walking, cycling and hiking routes, passing through open moorland, towering fells and beautiful stretches of water; avid outdoor adventurers can tackle the challenging climb to the summit of Scafell Pike, the tallest mountain in England. Venture into the town of Kendal, where you can browse the many boutique and high-street stores in search of a gift, as well as local attractions such as Kendal Museum. The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There is also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake.
