The cottage itself has wonderful interiors with elements going back to the 17th-century, making it ideal for a family stay in Cumbria. When you arrive at the cottage, you'll see off-road parking for three vehicles, allowing you to park your car safely and simply get your belongings into your new home-from-home. Inside, you'll discover a pleasant kitchen with all of the necessary amenities for preparing delectable meals, including a convenient dishwasher. Dinners can be enjoyed in the light and airy conservatory or in rustic the living/dining room before retiring to the space's sitting area, which features a television and a crackling wood burning stove. As the day fades into evening, mount the stairs to find three elegantly equipped bedrooms, one with a single bed, 1 double bed and the latter with king-size bed that can be twins on request, with one enjoying views over the garden and fells. The first-floor shower room is a stylish spot, where you can enjoy an invigorating rinse before venturing out to explore the area. The holiday home also has a large lawn with a marvellous hot tub to relax in at the end of each day. Travel north to the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere, where a variety of restaurants, including Porto and The Ship Inn, serve delectable meals, shops sell necessities, and a variety of attractions, including The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and boating opportunities to Far Sawrey can be found. Continue to Windermere, where you'll find a variety of outdoor recreation centres, as well as the Windermere Jetty Museum and hikes up the scenic Queen Adelaide's Hill. Ambleside offers a unique day out, with historic attractions such as Armitt Library & Museum Centre and Ambleside Roman Fort, as well as excursions to Stock Ghyll Force, Wansfell Pike, and Red Screes. If you're looking for more outdoor adventures, travel to Rydal, where you'll find Rydal Water, Rydal Cave, and Loughrigg Fell; or, if you prefer a day out in another picture-postcard town, head to Kendal. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated).
