After a long day of adventuring, you'll be glad to enter your luxurious home-from-home and relax on the plush corner sofa in front of the fire.
Later, you can use the sophisticated facilities in the well-appointed kitchen to whip up a big meal for the whole family, which you can then eat at the spacious dining table while raising a glass to your holiday.
You can while away the night with some friendly rivalry in the billiards room, which also features a bar, or you can enjoy the last rays of sunlight on the patio, which is equipped with a barbecue and is ideal for outdoor gatherings.
There are four beautifully decorated bedrooms, all with Smart TVs, on the first floor, where you can choose from a king-size room with an en-suite bathroom, two king-size rooms with en-suite shower rooms, one of which has a Juliet balcony, or a twin room with an en-suite shower room.
A short walk will take you to the village of Bowness-on-Windermere which offers a wonderful range of attractions, from the simplicities of shops, pubs and fine dining, to attractions such as The World of Beatrix Potter, watersports along its lake and a plethora of walking routes, there’s something here for every type of adventurer.
Walk down to the Windermere Marina and climb on board one of the iconic steamers, offering a circular cruise around the lake whist soaking up views of the impressive mountains, secluded bays and wooded islands.
Take to the top of one of the nearby hills like Brant Fell, Biskey Howe or Orrest Head for beautiful vistas; perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. The famous Dales Way starts close by, or why not catch the ferry to the other side of the Lake, where many more walks can be found.
Windermere Golf Club, Hill Top (a National Trust property), The World of Beatrix Potter, and Blackwell are just a few examples of the many family-friendly attractions in the area.
For literature lovers, travel towards Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum, rich with history and memorabilia inside, so you can see how the famous poet once lived and his cottage garden he planted with his sister Dorothy.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There is also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake.
