    “We had a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage.”

    It was spotlessly clean with really good facilities. Our only criticism is that cottage looks tired and needs updating. Upholstery as in sofas and chairs really need replacing or at the very least, cleaning. Saying all this, we would probably return.

A contemporary terraced cottage just a stone's throw away from the town centre, it offers all you could need for a memorable family holiday. Enter into the snug to be met by a warming gas stove sitting within the feature stone inglenook, here you can relish time with your loved ones whilst relaxing each evening in the plush seating arrangement, the Smart TV with Amazon Prime and Netflix sure to provide hours of entertainment. Through to the living/dining room you can find even more snug seating areas, with an inviting armchair perched in front of the woodburning stove, there's no better spot to delve into a good book from the selection at the cottage, as well as there being a variety of games and DVDs too! Gather together at the dining table for all your home-made meals, the galley-style kitchen at the rear of the cottage hosting every essential for a week-long stay with its contemporary range of appliances including a gas range cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, as well as there even being a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility too! Start your day within the enclosed courtyard with your morning coffee as your canine companion stretches their legs, or take a stroll into the town to discover a good selection of eateries where you can indulge in a hearty breakfast on the waterfront of Lake Windermere. Windermere being the largest lake in England, it offers plenty of scenic wonders to explore, with opportunities for watersports and idyllic boat trips to explore more of Cumbria too. There are plenty of quaint shops to visit in the town and then neighbouring twin town of Windermere too, with attractions in the local area including The World of Beatrix Potter, sure to be a hit with the little ones. The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells.
