The property

Brampton 3.9 miles.

Perfectly positioned amidst the Cumbrian countryside and nestled between the Scottish borders and the North Pennines AONB is Stanley Barn, a beautifully appointed conversion on the outskirts of Brampton.

With its tranquil rural setting and a boutique interior design, Stanley Barn is a rare find for families or groups of six to call home as they enjoy the delights of Cumbria and beyond.

Enter into the striking stone-built barn and be welcomed into the kitchen/diner, where the modern kitchen suite, containing all the modern touches and integrated appliances one would expect balances the traditional features of the period property.

Adjoining the kitchen space is the dining table, surrounded by a quaint décor, which is complemented by the electric fire, sitting within a stone-built reveal; the focal point of this room.

Slip through the door to discover the sitting room, styled with a seamless blend of contemporary and charm, with the plush L-shape sofa inviting you in to tune into the TV or bask in the sunshine beaming in through the large patio doors, with the feature stone windows echoing the property's past.

Concluding the ground floor is the elegantly appointed double bedroom, boating refreshing hues of yellow and quality linens to ensure that sleep comes easy at the end of a bracing day.

The master bedroom can be found on the first floor, where exposed beams frame the plush double bed, piled with gorgeous cushions and the archway provides access to the en-suite, where Victorian-style tiling lies beneath an elegant roll-top bath and a spacious walk-in shower.

The third and final bedroom is made up of two single beds, good storage space and the beams again highlight the history of this magnificent property.

At Stanley Barn, the garden has been designed to be an extension of the house itself, where you can look forward to spending sunny afternoons on the large stone paved terrace outside the sitting room, as you savour the sunshine from the outdoor furniture and your canine companions roam the large lawn area freely!

If you can tear yourself away from this rural oasis, venture into the nearby market town of Brampton, where you will find a plethora of shops to explore, as well as pubs and tearooms to enjoy meals after a bracing day of the exploring the surrounding area.

Talkin Tarn Country Park is also nearby, where you and your loved ones can look forward to discovering the 65-acre lake set amid 120-acres of farmland and woodland or you could visit Gelt Woods for more gentle walking opportunities with a RSPB nature reserve to also enjoy.

Of course, Hadrian’s Wall is not to be missed whilst here, walk along this historic landmark and discover an array of ruins scattered along the way including turrets, castles and forts.

Other attractions include visiting the Solway Aviation Museum, the Walby Farm Park, and the Lanercost Priory & Tea Rooms, offering something for all ages and tastes.

More outdoor adventure can be found slightly further afield in the scenic North Pennines AONB, where you can take on the challenge of climbing the peaks of Cold Fell, Great Blacklaw Hill, Pike Rigg and Black Fell, alternatively, you could head in the other direction to visit Gretna Green in Scotland for a unique day out.

With all of this to enjoy and much more, secure your stay at Stanley Barn for a fun-filled holiday.

About the location

BRAMPTON, CUMBRIA

Carlisle 10 miles.

The market town of Brampton is the ideal base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall. The town boasts a rich and colourful history going back to the Roman occupation, Border reivers from Scotland and the Jacobite uprisings, plus bonnie Prince Charlie established his headquarters in one of the old buildings in Brampton. In the centre of the town is Moot Hall, which was built in 1817, and now houses the Tourist Information Centre, and there is a large motte to the east of the town, which is 135 feet high and has the statue of the 7th Earl of Carlisle on it. A few miles outside Brampton is Talkin Tarn Country Park. It covers 120 acres of farmland and woodland, 65 of which make up the Tarn, a 10,000 year old glacial lake, fed by underwater springs. Two miles away is Gelt Woods, which is an ancient woodland and RSPB nature reserve and has the River Gelt running through it. Brampton is a wonderful base for exploring this historic and scenic area.
