    “We have had a lovely stay at Bruach.”

    Accommodation very clean, warm and well equipped. Lovely bathrooms with plenty of hot water . Situated by a river just off the A590, it gave perfect access to either up towards Windermere, coniston and down towards Ulverston. Having said this, road noise was never a problem. Very scenic either way remains of the old ironworks nearby. Plenty to see locally:- Lakeland motor museum, a walk up to gunners How which had 360 view and totally achievable for most abilities and well signposted. Park at ...

Park at fell foot car park (NT) for a cuppa by lake Windermere, portmeirion candle outlet factory shop down past ulverston, attempted old man of coniston but too windy for final ascent so a cuppa at the bluebird cafe right by the lake, was a v good cafe. Rydal caves and into grasmere and lastly a walk up Catbells by Keswick . Needless to say a thorough good trip .

This wonderful duplex apartment named as Bruach is located in at the southern tip of Lake Windermere in the village of Backbarrow, close to Newby Bridge.

Newby Bridge 1 mile; Bowness-on-Windermere 10 miles.
