“The property was a good size for our family.”

2 adults and 2 young boys. Stairs weren't a big issue as we are all fit and mobile but will definitely put a lot of people off. The TV is 6-8 inches too high and at the wrong angle, we needed to push the sofa right back up against the stairs and was still uncomfortable to watch. The Kitchen was an asset and the coffee machine and bits left for us were a very nice touch. A small freezer compartment would have been helpful. The Kitchen was an asset and the coffee machine and bits left for us were a very nice touch. A small freezer compartment would have been helpful. Bath/shower mats are an essential addition in my opinion and bins. The mattresses were probably the no 1 reason we won't be returning and the main reason we left a night early. The parking was an issue and difficult at times and we felt two of the cars were strategically positioned to take up 4 cars worth of spaces at the front of the property. However the neighbours we met were very friendly.

About the location

CARK IN CARTMEL

Cartmel 2 miles; Bowness on Windermere 16 miles.

Cark in Cartmel is a small Lakeland village just two miles from Cartmel, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District. Cark is well served by the Furness line railway, and features pretty streamside strolls, lovely walks to the local coastline overlooking Morecambe Bay, two fine traditional old pubs and a scattering of small shops. It is a very short stroll from here to Holker Hall, the stately home of Lord Cavendish, whose house, gardens and deer park are open to the public and also now home to a licensed brasserie The Ilex. Take advantage of excellent walking opportunities amidst beautiful unspoilt countryside or visit The National Hunt Racecourse, the Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition and the Lakeland Motor Museum, all close by. Nearby Cartmel offers quaint cobbled streets littered with antique shops, charming gift shops, welcoming traditional pubs serving real ales, and the nationally acclaimed Michelin Star awarded L'Enclume restaurant. The quiet seaside retreat of Grange-over-Sands, with its Edwardian buildings, mountain backdrop, fabulous sea views, promenade and two golf courses is four miles away. Windermere, with its panoramic views over England's longest lake, is within a fifteen minute drive. A superb holiday destination at any time of year.
