    “Perfect spot for exploring the South Lakes!”

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is about our 9th time visiting Riverside View, and it honestly feels like ‘returning home’ now! The facilities and location are perfect to meet our needs. We have always brought the dog with us and he’s so settled. We have brought family and friends over the years and EVERYONE loves it! The house is always clean and well maintained and any issues (including our friends once leaving some clothing several years ago!) have always been dealt with swiftly ...

We have always brought the dog with us and he’s so settled. We have brought family and friends over the years and EVERYONE loves it! The house is always clean and well maintained and any issues (including our friends once leaving some clothing several years ago!) have always been dealt with swiftly and the owners are really helpful! It’s a great base we love the local area and have stayed in several other holiday cottage’s over the years but we found Riverside View and have never looked back - only going elsewhere when our planned week had been booked - we now ensure to book in plenty of time! This year our children and grandchildren stayed nearby and were able to come and visit us which made the holiday even better and the facilities within the property were perfect! Our challenge is to find something ‘new’ that we haven’t done before, and honestly, we never fail! We look forward to going back next year! Thank you!

The property

A magnificent, semi-detached house situated on the fringe of Cark in Cartmel, benefiting from lovely riverside views.

This homely cottage would be an ideal base for a large family seeking a quiet holiday with exploration opportunities towards the Lake District and surrounding areas.

The sitting room offers a comfortable place to reflect upon the days activities or plan another, with a spacious seating arrangement and dining table at one side.

There is a second snug room which offers a quieter spot to watch TV or indulge in a good read.

Completing the ground floor is the utility room and contemporary kitchen which boasts an array of high-end, fitted appliances.

Riverside View hosts three bedrooms including the king-size master which benefits from a TV and en-suite shower room.

The additional twin bedrooms are served by the sumptuous family bathroom and have the added benefit of a flat screen TV.

After a tiring day out, return to the peace and quiet of Riverside View.

Cark In Cartmel Cottages

Cark in Cartmel Cottages are a delightful collection of traditional Cumbrian cottages on the edges of the popular Lake District National Park. This terrific trio offer both character and contemporary features, giving guests an authentic Cumbrian break whilst enjoying the comforts of home. Wander into the village of Cark where you will find a general shop which is handy for picking up any essentials, and a fine, cosy pub The Engine Inn, which serves traditional pub grub. From the property there are several splendid walks through the countryside and along the river bank - a truly picturesque scene packed with wildlife. Why not savour a taste at the famous sticky toffee pudding shop before venturing on a countryside walk to use up those extra calories? There is also a local railway station which runs up the west coast making an interesting and picturesque day out, allowing you to enjoy the coast line to Barrow-In-Furness, or in the opposite direction explore the popular Grange-over-Sands overlooking Morecambe Bay. Two miles away is Cartmel, home to a collection of small shops, pubs and restaurants, and also a famous racecourse which thrives in the summer. Adding to your sightseeing itinerary is the popular Lake District National Park, reached by a short and scenic drive and the home to the bustling towns of Bowness and Ambleside, along with some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country. Bring along your bikes and take a nice long ride up to and around Lake Windermere, and when you're done, return to your inviting cottage to rest and recover. Cark in Cartmel is a small Lakeland village just two miles from Cartmel, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District. Cark is well served by the Furness line railway, and features pretty streamside strolls, lovely walks to the local coastline overlooking Morecambe Bay, two fine traditional old pubs and a scattering of small shops. It is a very short stroll from here to Holker Hall, the stately home of Lord Cavendish, whose house, gardens and deer park are open to the public and also now home to a licensed brasserie The Ilex. Take advantage of excellent walking opportunities amidst beautiful unspoilt countryside or visit The National Hunt Racecourse, the Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition and the Lakeland Motor Museum, all close by. Nearby Cartmel offers quaint cobbled streets littered with antique shops, charming gift shops, welcoming traditional pubs serving real ales, and the nationally acclaimed Michelin Star awarded L'Enclume restaurant.
