    “Had another perfect stay!”

    following our stay in June last year for a 50th celebration we decided to return with family for my 60th Birthday. The cottage is amazing and kept my Grandchildren entertained in the hot tub and the games room and the adults and dogs in the lounge. Its a great location with easy access to anywhere in the lakes or further. We ate in the hotel on the Birthday night and the staff were wonderful and the food was amazing as it was last time we visited. We had our own games night with straws, paper ...

    following our stay in June last year for a 50th celebration we decided to return with family for my 60th Birthday. The cottage is amazing and kept my Grandchildren entertained in the hot tub and the games room and the adults and dogs in the lounge. Its a great location with easy access to anywhere in the lakes or further. We ate in the hotel on the Birthday night and the staff were wonderful and the food was amazing as it was last time we visited. We had our own games night with straws, paper cups and ping pong balls, there is so much space in the house that we could do this indoors when the rain came down. Everything about this place is perfect. There were plenty of towels, loo rolls, plugs (all the little things that make life more comfortable). My Son-In-Law loved the coffee machine with the pods. The 2 ovens allowed us to cook full breakfast for 9 of us with ease. Constant hot water, underfloor heating (we had snow at one point but the house was lovely and warm) and radiators. I spoke with the owner prior to the trip who arranged one bedroom to be split into single beds for our smaller Grandchildren and we also pre-ordered the food for our meal in the hotel so the starters were served very quickly after our arrival. Everything was perfect and we will definitely return. Thank you for making my Birthday so great! x

Crooklands Cottage rests in Crooklands, Cumbria, a fantastic and spacious detached cottage.

The home is ideal for a large family or group gathering, with five bedrooms and open-plan living spaces, and is close to the wilds of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Before hauling your bags into Crooklands Cottage, guests have access to the nearby hotel car park, which has enough space for five cars.

Each room is beautifully finished with fantastic amenities to suit those who prefer high-quality over rustic and traditional.

The ground floor offers plenty of space to catch up with loved ones or take some time to yourself.

The contemporary and well-appointed kitchen/diner contains two electric ovens and a hob, microwave, and an American-style fridge/freezer to stock up on your favourite foods for your stay, with lots of seating options; before retiring to one of two sitting rooms, set the huge dining table and plan the next day's adventures over a scrumptious home-cooked dinner.

Keep your holiday clothes clean in the adjacent utility room, which includes a sink, washing machine, and tumble dryer.

For a quieter evening, gather in the first sitting room, which has plush seats and a giant Smart TV, or head to the second sitting room, which has another Smart TV, Playstation, and pool table for a friendly competition.

Milnthorpe, a little market town with a market square full of enticing shops and charming cafés, is a good starting point for exploring the Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which has gorgeous trails and an abundance of wildlife.

Kendal, north of Crooklands Cottage, is a vibrant town with lovely high streets, traditional pubs, and plenty of history and legacy in the ruins of Kendal Castle and the Quaker Tapestry Museum.

Journey to the popular Windermere for boat trips across the picture-perfect lake, a break for lunch in a small tearoom, or a climb up Orrest Head for panoramic views across breath-taking scenery.

Crooklands is mid-way between Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale and Milnthorpe. It offers a pub/hotel, and the Lancaster Canal is within walking distance. Kendal, only five miles away is famous for its yards, narrow lanes, historic buildings and Kendal Mint Cake, as well as the unique Quaker Tapestry. Set in lovely rolling countryside, the area has much to offer, including the Levens Hall’s World renowed Topiery Gardens and deer park, The Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, Leighton Hall, Sizergh Castle and the Lake District National Park, with Lake Windermere only a short drive away. Within driving distance is the Yorkshire Dales with caves at White Scar, Ingleton and the internationally renowned Malham Cove, plus in the opposite direction is the Morecambe Bay area of Silverdale.
