“The cottage was in a perfect location right in the centre of Windermere which has a lovely variety of places to eat, drink and shop.”

There are lovely walks on the doorstep and the bus service is brilliant. We didn’t use the car at all for 4 days as we could easily get to Ambleside and Grasmere on the bus. The cottage was warm given the weather during our stay was very wet. The kitchen was well equipped and clean but let down by the fridge door which was covered in smears possibly due to being a matt black door. The living area was ok but felt a little ‘tired’ as did the entrance hall. The first floor bedroom was clean, comfortable and pleasantly furnished. Little things let the accommodation down and these can be easily remedied. There was no toilet roll in the two first floor bathrooms. This created a bad first impression that was hard to shake off. When you first arrive the first thing most people do after a long journey is pop to the loo! We realised that this was not an oversight as we saw a previous review. The living room TV was not connected to the internet so extra channels and streaming were not available. It did make us laugh that there was an ice bucket and two glasses laid out on the bistro table. Probably best not to bother if there is no wine

Hi Helen My name is Jingwen and I am the owner of Nutkin Cottage. I want to thank you for sharing the feedback. I only recently took over Nutkin Cottage and therefore appreciate any suggestion that could help improve the service. My apologies for the toilet roll arrangement. They should have been provided. And I will speak with the house keeping team to ensure this won’t happen again. In terms of the internet connection for living room TV. I will ask the maintenance team look into it. We noticed that sometimes the armchair next to it might block the signal. However, I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. If there is any other area with Nutkin Cottage that I could make improvement, please don’t hesitate to let me know. Thank you very much again for choosing Nutkin Cottage and sharing your feedback! Warm regards Jingwen Property Owner
