The property

The Old Farmhouse at Brackenthwaite Farm is a charming period cottage situated in the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape of Lancashire and Cumbria, and it offers breathtaking countryside views.

Make use of the on-site facilities including a 2.5-acre enclosed orchard for exercising dogs and a dedicated play area for children.

Step into the charming sitting room, where two sofas and an armchair are arranged around a glowing open fireplace, framed by thick limestone walls and original ceiling beams that add timeless charm.

A convenient cloakroom and WC complete the ground floor.

Upstairs, you'll find three beautifully styled bedrooms: two super-king-size rooms with flexible twin options and exposed beams, plus a twin room ideal for children or additional guests.

The shared orchard is a paradise for dogs with space to run and play, plus additinoal trampoline, swings, and slides for children.

With its blend of historic charm and modern comforts, 2 ½ acre fully enclosed field that proves extremely popular with children and dogs.

In it you will find a children’s play area climbing frame, swings, and trampoline, a square pitch for playing ball sports, dog exercise area with throwers, balls and other toys provided, a ‘chill out zone’ with tree swing and bench seating, and a grand, in-ground fire pit should you wish to spend an evening with your family or friends around a crackling fire, sharing stories or toasting marshmallows.

It is from The Orchard where you might also like to start a walk that takes you on a 1-mile route around the farm estate.

On this walkabout you will pass some lovely views and sights including an enclosed wildlife area, new wooded areas, an open wildflower meadow, and meet some of the other resident animals onsite including Kunekune pigs, sheep, goats, hens, ducks, and other poultry.All of these are pets, there for enhancing the visitor experience.The latter also provide some of the most excellent free-range eggs!

The owners at Brackenthwaite Farm have carefully crafted the ten acre space to provide a variety of points of interest to visiting guests.

An additional space is called The Rose Garden and from here you may like to sit and relax among the abundance of plant colour and scents.It is also here that you may make use of the hand-made cob pizza oven, which is a great novelty for small families or friends.With everything there is to experience at Corner Cottage, you may not want to leave.

However, rest assured that there is plenty to see and do within the local area.

Brackenthwaite Farm is located within the heart of The Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape and so makes a perfect destination to get out and explore the breathtaking and varied natural beauty that is available here including spectacular views, an abundance of wildlife, pristine beaches, and enchanting woodlands and wildflower meadows, plus visit some wonderful local shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as other nearby places of interest. The Old Farmhouse is a wonderful base for exploring the local area, from nature reserves with their natural beauty, to charming villages with local shops, and stately homes with impressive gardens, there really is something for everyone here.

Brackenthwaite Farm offers a collection of four holiday properties located in the picturesque Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape on the border between North Lancashire and The South Lakes in Cumbria. Take a stroll yourselves around the site on a 1-mile path that weaves you past a miniature wildlife area and meet their resident farm animals of sheep, goats, and kunekune pigs – all pets – along the way. About the location

ARNSIDE

Kendal 10 miles; Windermere 17 miles.

Arnside is situated on the southernmost tip of the Lake District in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where low limestone hills, marshy plains and deciduous woodlands characterise the surrounding land. This former fishing port has retained many of the features from its past. The beautiful pier and port areas of the village offer stunning views across the Kent Estuary, as well as providing an enduring reminder of Arnside's illustrious history. To the south of the village are the 15th century Pele Towers, which were constructed to defend against the marauding Scots. The local surrounding area is a nature lover's paradise with stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks through countryside alive with rare plants, trees and wildlife. The internationally renowned Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve is also just one mile away. Guided walks across the Kent Estuary are available, showing the full splendour of the shore and surrounding area.
