“Farriers Cottage was lovely with everything we needed for a happy holiday .”
A cosy fire for chilly evenings and exceptionally comfortable beds with
beautiful country side on our doorstep. we had a lovely time dispite it raining solidly for 5 of our 7 days .
For us the only draw back was we had our dog with us who we had to keep on a lead at all times outside the house because of the close proximity of the next door house/garden obviously private with instructions not to go into their garden at any time .Interestingly we did note that there was a public footpath which you can only access by walking over the next door garden. We wondered how that worked ? There was no mention of this at all ,but there was a sign quite clearly at the entrance of the drive and a stile in next doors garden in stone wall.
I dont think this is an easy area if you have a big dog and want to go for off lead walks as there are sheep in every field , meaning leads at all times ,if we wanted a good walk we had to leave the dog in the car
because you can't leave dogs in the house. Its no fault of the house at all
maybe we should have done more reaserch .
Thank you for your feedback. If we may clarify, there is a public right of way that runs through our front garden and our neighbour's garden, leading to a public footpath. In the past some guests with dogs felt free to use our neighbour's garden, hence the request to respect our neigbour's privacy. For any guests with a dog, please bear in mind that our cottage is in the middle of the Dales and farmland where sheep graze, and it is your responsibility to ensure that your dog is well behaved and does not chase
sheep. We hope your dog will still have a lovely time going on walks with you on a lead!
