“This cottage is absolutely idyllic and definitely worth booking if you enjoy beautiful landscapes and wildlife.”

Set in stunning countryside, it is a place where you can really appreciate nature. There are rabbits on the lawn, red squirrels in the surrounding area and we enjoyed our evening stroll down a nearby footpath to watch 3 hares on the hillside. You are only 12 minutes from Sedbergh with some brilliant walks which you can pick up from Sedbergh Visitor Centre. Walk 11 was amazing. Definitely worth a visit is the Fairfield Mill in Sedbergh- a 4 floor museum/ workshop/ exhibition dedicated to local ...

Definitely worth a visit is the Fairfield Mill in Sedbergh- a 4 floor museum/ workshop/ exhibition dedicated to local crafts people and artists. We bought some beautiful wood engravings from local artist Stuart Wilkie. Also well worth a visit for refreshments is the Three Hares Cafe just off the main shopping street in Sedbergh.Lovely service, coffee and cake. There are waterfall walks galore- Aysgarth 30 minutes away and well worth visiting. The Lakes are also not too far away ( 1hr to Ullswater or Windermere) if you want to explore further afield though there is an abundance of great walking in The Dales. The cottage itself is perfect. We visit holiday cottages annually and we all agreed Farrier’s Cottage outdid them all. It was so well- equipped, spacious and beautiful. It really was a place where you could escape and unwind but near enough to access local amenities. The owner, Phil, was so kind and helpful checking in via email to see if all was ok-it was more than ok! Even the lovely touches like a locally made Parkin cake left for us to enjoy and helpful notes around the house were so well thought out. We have all completed me back from our week break with some fabulous memories and Farrier’s Cottage has become a place we will speak fondly of for many years.
