Lovely quiet site just outside Hawkshead village, with nice views out to Esthwaite to the front, and onto a farmers field (hill) to the side - we enjoyed watching the young calves learning about their new world!

There's a public path that runs along with rear of the property (aforementioned field), at the other side of a stream; we saw many walkers passing on their way to/ from Hawkshead - no intrusion, though I would have welcomed some privacy film on the windows, or voile/net type things so you still have the views without those walkers being able to see in.
The property is well equipped for all catering needs, clothes washing/drying, etc, so great if you inevitably get caught in the Cumbria rain!
There's a well stocked Co-op in Hawkshead, but if you need a bigger shop, we found Ulverston M&S Foodhall or Aldi probably the closest "big" supermarkets, approx 14 miles away. We saw a Sainsbury's delivery van delivering whilst there, so that is a great option if you don't want to travel so far.
From an accessibility point of view, the property has a walk in shower, and is all on one level, except for the outside steps, of which there are 4 or 5. The first step is almost double height, so that may cause difficulties for some - one of our party was elderly and uses a stick / rollator but is OK with "normal" stairs (albeit slowly) and needed assistance going up and down - a good sized paving slab may be of benefit.
Final point: if you book, check the directions and don't do what mother did! The directions we received reference starting near Ambleside, however if you're travelling from the south, getting off the M6 at junction 36, you're likely better approaching from Newby Bridge, over the bridge at the Swan, and following along the edge of Windermere and then the edge of Esthwaite.
