“The property location was ideal however the cleanliness was not up to standard at all.”

The kitchen was poorly cleaned. The oven was disgusting and we cleaned the top oven ourselves just to be able to use it. The standard of the plates and bowls was poor with several of them chipped. The floors were dirty and clearly hadn’t been swept or vacuumed with crumbs all over the place, including on the sofas. The amount of dust throughout was embarrassing and the place could do with a thorough clean from top to bottom. The flooring in the downstairs bedroom was stained and cover by a ...

The standard of the plates and bowls was poor with several of them chipped. The floors were dirty and clearly hadn’t been swept or vacuumed with crumbs all over the place, including on the sofas. The amount of dust throughout was embarrassing and the place could do with a thorough clean from top to bottom. The flooring in the downstairs bedroom was stained and cover by a rug. The carpets themselves are threadbare and not pleasing. The property has plenty of character and could be ideal with a little bit of TLC. Overall, it was disappointing to have to clean a place ourselves upon arrival however it’s location was great. Unfortunately we would not choose to stay here again. I have taken several photographs of the issues we experienced and would be happy to email on should you require to see any evidence.

Orrest Head, School Knott and Brantfell offer lovely walks with rewarding views direct from your front door.

If you are feeling slightly more adventurous you can head into the high fells of the Troutbeck or Kentmere Valleys, enjoy mountain biking in Grizedale Forest or even a number of water sports or open water swimming in Lake Windermere.

If all of this sounds too energetic, why not head to the Lake to enjoy a romantic evening cruise! == Accommodation in detail Steps lead to a raised decked approach to the front door of Antrona, formally an old grain store and reputedly the birth place of a famous Lakeland kitchenware company which now has stores across the globe! The front door opens onto the large open plan lounge with a cosy log burning stove, plush sofas, large smart TV and sociable round oak dining room table.

An ingeniously designed kitchen in an elevated position overlooks the living space, making it a sociable spot to cook and prepare dinner.

Climbing the stairs into the mezzanine level, there is a welcoming master bedroom with a king size bed, sloping ceiling and Velux window.

Accessed directly from the lounge is the bright and airy second bedroom, with twin beds and the modern family bathroom with WC, hand basin and bath with overhead shower.

Step outside onto the decking area to the front of the property where you can sit with your morning coffee on the bench and watch the world go by.

The owners welcome one small, well behaved dog.

Due to the location of the property it does not have its own garden but a few minutes' walk from Antrona there is a lovely walk through the woods, at Sheriff's Wood, or Queens Park is also close by.

There is on street parking close by.
