    “Fourteen Ladies for a 50th Birthday weekend - The house was amazing.”

    Loved the original features and especially the Minton tiled floor in the hallway and the beautiful staircase. The kitchen was well equipped , it had everything we needed ( except for a corkscrew but the Guest House a few doors down lent us one ! ) It had a huge fridge and a separate, equally as big , freezer. It had two dishwashers which made life so easy especially as we were 14 of us. The Range Cooker was great. There was a Ninja Bean to Cup coffee machine so , if you like your coffee ...

There was a Ninja Bean to Cup coffee machine so , if you like your coffee don’t forget your beans but if you do forget there’s plenty of shops in easy walking distance to buy some. The dining room easily accommodated us all comfortably and a great room to play games in. All nine bedrooms , each with their own en-suite were all very clean and the comments from the girls , that the beds were really comfortable. The location is in walking distance to lots of local shops , bars and restaurants , ten minutes in either direction to Bowness and Windemere. The property owner , Michelle was very helpful. We will definitely be revisiting Fir Trees Guest House in the not too distant future.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
