Robbert “Neat house with all facilicities (exempt dishwasher), small living room but large kitchen.”
Long narrow back garden. Excellent bedding and warm welcome. Parking available further in the street. Speciious bathroom.
- Robbert, June 2023Pauline “This property is quite small.”
It’s neat for 4 but adequate. Would recommend only 1 smallish dog though. It was clean and comfy with enough crockery, cutlery etc. washing up bowl would have come in handy. Steep steps to back garden. Parking on road so not always at your door. Pub is close but no shop so trip to Ulvetstone for most stuff. Lots of tv’s. Handy area by back door for wet stuff. Nice touch that the bedside lights have usb’s in them. Broadband ok (we have super fast at home so hard to judge as everything seems slow to us!). Basket of local info provided. Tea and milk on arrival (no coffee). Owner easy to contact and attentive. We had no real issues during our stay.
- Pauline, July 2022Amy “May Cottage was a delight.”
Very clean and modern inside. I would definitely stay again.
- Amy, May 2022Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. Means so much to us. Property Owner
Phil “Fantastic break!”
A great base to spend a week discovering the lake district. May Cottage had everthing we needed and was only 3 doors away from a dog friendly pub. The hosts were very thoughtful and provided us with a home from home. Will definitely be staying again
- Phil, March 2022Mary “Lovely cottage, immaculately clean and everything you need is there.”
Will definitely be coming back to stay again.
- Mary, December 2021Thank you so much for your amazing feedback. It means so much to us. X Property Owner
Peter “Very central location for most of the things we wanted to do, highly recommend this cottage.”
Very comfortable clean tidy Everything you need for your stay
- Peter, October 2021Leanne “We had a wonderful stay at May Cottage.”
Very modern inside and the hosts have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and homely. The cottage is definitely not in an industrial estate and is a quaint little village with a lovely pub. We would happily return to the cottage and we all very much enjoyed our stay. Leanne
- Leanne, September 2021Wendy “Garden was very dark and needed external light.”
Top step in garden is too steep. Cottage is lovely and has all home from home facilities.
- Wendy, September 2021Thank you for your feedback Mrs Adams. The owner has taken onboard your comments and will fit an external light as soon as possible, unfortunately there isn't much we can do regarding the garden layout. Once again thank you and we hope to see you again in the near future Property Owner
Barbara “Nice cottage, good amenities in the cottage.”
Hosts helpful. Penny Bridge really just a street, parking a little difficult. Greenodd no better , both lacked a little something for us. Village in an industrial estate is how we would some it up. Disappointed in description of the villages.
- Barbara, September 2021Thank you for your feedback further to your stay with us at May Cottage, although it was disappointing to read that the area you chose wasn't suitable for you. Our customer services team are always very helpful when it comes to finding you the right location for your holiday needs. I have spoken to the owner who has said that the village isn't in an industrial estate, we're sorry that you felt this way, but this is an unfair comment and it isn't feedback received from guests. We do really hope that we can find you a more suitable location in future and hope to welcome you again in the not so distant future. Property Owner
Mark “Lovely cottage beautiful decorated and full of charm and comfort, handily located for the local pub, chip shop, an excellent cafe, and the southern lakes.”
Local walk on the estuary and further afield. We will book again here.
- Mark, September 2021Elaine “A lovely cottage in a quiet village location.”
The owners have thought of everything and it is homely and comfortable, there is a hairdryer, iron and ironing board which may be useful to know beforehand. For the size of the property the kitchen and utility are great and very modern, our stay was a pleasure and the owners seem to really care their guests have a good stay. I would highly recommend. There are some nice restaurants in Ulverston which is a short car ride away and for breakfast Bakers Born and Bred is fab, The Lake District is a short ride away and is stunning so if you want a quiet peaceful location very accessible to the Lakes then this is the property for you.
- Elaine, August 2021Michelle “A lovely renovated cottage in a quiet village.”

- Stuart, June 2021Victoria “May cottage is set in a friendly village.”
We were made to feel very welcome. On arrival we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a card from the owners. The cottage has been finished to a high standard and was spotless. There was everything we needed in the cottage. The sound system fitted in the kitchen was a suprise. Also the large wine fridge was very useful. The local pub, which is only 3 doors down was excellent for food and drinks. Everyone makes you feel welcome there. We will definitely be returning.
- Victoria, May 2021Peter “Cottage developed to a high specification, just outside the Lake District boundary so within easy reach but without the inflated prices, brilliantly portrayed by the friendly, reasonably priced and rather splendid hostelry a mere three doors away.”
- Peter, May 2021Aprille “May Cottage was welcoming the moment we stepped in the front door.”
Loved the cottage, warm, comfortable and relaxing with all the mod cons you need and more. Wonderful lighting which felt cosy and the cleanliness was 10/10. We wanted for nothing and enjoyed the welcoming bottle of wine by the fire. We will return for more breaks.
- Aprille, April 2021Thank you for taking the time to feedback from your recent stay. The owner would like to pass on her gratitude for your kind words and really pleased you enjoyed their cottage. We hope we can welcome you back in the future too! Many thanks - The Lakelovers Team Property Owner
