“Wow a beautiful tucked away hidden gem, in a breathtaking location.”

We had a lovely 2 night stay here. 2 highlights: 1 is being able to access epic walking right from the front door and the 2nd is the hot tub. Completely private at the back of the property and with the most amazing star gazing to be seen! The only build I would say is to maybe provide logs to last the whole first night for guests. You kindly provided some extras for us but with your location, you don’t really want to be driving around once there so it’s not that convenient to drive to the shop (which is not that close). It would be great to offer a top up service (for a price). Also a couple of extra tea bags to last the weekend (only 4 provided) would be welcome. But that’s only because we were only there for a 2 night stay. Comfy bed, lovely shower. Everything we needed.

The property

This Rural location is set in the foothills of beautiful Lakeland mountains, near the National Trust's Tarn Hows and in peaceful countryside, Tilberthwaite Farm Cottage is the prime location for exploring the lake district.

This cosy getaway welcomes a family holiday or a lovely break for a group of friends looking to explore all the area has to offer.

Head straight into the sitting room and get toasty by the fire on a cold winter's night, later moving across to the dining area for a hearty meal cooked up in the kitchen.

Climb the stairs, and from the window on the landing you can see right across luscious green farmland over to Wetherlam, the most northerly of the Coniston Fells.

You have a master bedroom occupying a king-size double bed and lovely glimpses over the farmyard and the valley, the perfect scene to wake up to each morning when you draw open the curtains.

Next, the twin room is ideal for those travelling with kids and the family bathroom offers a deep-soaking bathtub with a shower over.

To the rear of the property there is a seating area perfect to sit with a drink watching the traditional rare breed Hardwick sheep on the lake district fells while you ooze in the natural ambiance all around you.

Make the most of the glorious scenery and explore the area on foot or by bike, there are some fabulous routes to take right on the doorstep such as the famous Hodge Close and Cathedral Quarry where you can stop off for a drink at the Three Shires Pub in Little Langdale.

Tarn Hows is a lovely circular walk to be taken at whatever pace you fancy, with ever-changing views season-to-season and spots for picnicking with your family and friends.

Coniston is a charming village close by with traditional pubs and a few handy shops, dominated by The Old Man of Coniston, which rises dramatically behind stone-built houses.

It beckons walkers and climbers, as well as those looking to get out on Coniston Water, one of the most beautiful areas of the Lake District.

You are in a wonderful location for touring the ancient Grizedale Forest, Lake Windermere and the delightful town of Ambleside, a superb getaway not to be missed!
