“Probably the nicest cottage we've stayed in - cosy but perfect for a couple.”

Beautifully presented with everything needed and some thoughtful extra touches. Well placed in the centre of Penrith but peaceful because of the lane location. Just the right amount of contact from the hosts - welcoming and helpful without over-fuss. Will certainly come again.

“We had a lovely stay at Hideaway Cottage.”

It was clean, cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. We liked the fact that the cottage was in walking distance of the town and parking wasn’t an issue. Used the car park at the back of the police station, plenty of spaces and only a short walk to the cottage. Would definitely return.

“Such a lovely place.”

The location is great for Penrith, everything is in easy walking distance. I can't think of anything that is missing from this cottage, the kitchen has everything you need of you choose to stay in and cook for the evening. I booked primarily for the fire which was amazing in the evening with a glass of wine and a film. I would happily book again in the future.

“A beautiful, cosy cottage with everything needed for a self catering stay.”

Convenient location near to shops for daily requirements. No on site parking but we had no problem parking in the pay & display car park behind the property. Highly recommended!

“What a beautiful place to stay.”

Immaculate and comfortable. The hosts are so nice and immediately responded giving us tips and advice. So central to everything, infact, we didn't use our car and did plenty of walking. We also got the bus into Keswick one day and enjoyed the scenery en route. Would love to stay again. Penrith has everything you could ask for.

“Absolutely stunning little cottage.”

Everything you may need in the cottage is there for you. Super comfy beds, really is home from home. The cottage is at the end of a little lane, so very peaceful and quiet. Car park is conveniently located at the rear of the cottage. Easy access to town centre with some lovely independent shops and cafés. The cottage was immaculate and beautiful, we can't wait to go back.

“Stunning and beautifully furnished, made very homely with thoughtful touches for a really relaxing stay.”

Such a beautiful home and location. Few lovely treats when we arrived. Fresh milk, tea,coffee biscuits. Easy to find with the directions given. Car parking around the corner. All the Instructions for use of kitchen facilities as well as tv, bathroom, log fire and rubbish disposal, were all easy to follow and much appreciated. Pristinely clean. Contact with the owners was excellent from start to finish. Near to the center of Penrith so not far to walk to the shops and flat as I struggle with walking far. I can't recommend this cottage enough.

“So much to say about Hideaway.”

It was the best cottage I have ever stayed in (and I've stayed in a few). The cottage exceeded all of my expectations and had everything that you would need and more. For a starter the house is stunning. And perfectly equipped, in fact the kitchen was better equipped than my own! The house was immaculately presented, and I appreciated the lovely little touches left by the owners (Easter bunny and egg for my 6yr old and lots of lovely Easter charm around the house). We had no issues but weirdly had a smoke alarm activated by itself. I really appreciated the hosts came out swiftly to inspect it. Speaking of hosts...Alan and Heather are so thoughtful. Great communication beforehand, and I appreciated that they checked I had made it to the house OK. I also appreciated being shown how to use the log fire which was a lovely touch. They did everything to make us feel at home. Sky, games, radio, Alexa and lovely goodies in the kitchen which went down a treat. I honestly have no negatives and absolutely will be back!

“What an amazing cottage.”

Absolutely outstanding. It really felt like home. Beautifully decorated with each room complimenting the next. Everything to the finest detail has been thought of here. The living room is so relaxing with a fantastic log burner that just makes the end of the day perfect. Such a serene room to relax in. The kitchen is gorgeous with everything you could possibly need. With little touches and a welcoming gift which was truly appreciated. The bathroom, oh the bathroom, with a large bath to soak away any troubles and an amazing shower for a fresh start to the day. The beds are so comfortable and cosy, and after a long day is just what you need. Very private if you want a break from the world. The beautiful Penrith town center is literally a minutes walk away, and the train and bus station a few short minutes walk. Alan & Heather are very welcoming and on hand throughout our stay if needed. I could go on forever about how amazingly perfect the cottage is. We will most definitely stay here again.

They are super attentive, more than any host we’ve ever had, and have created an amazing cottage retreat, second to none. “Had a wonderful stay in this cosy cottage.”

Decor is beautiful and everything in the property is of high quality. Very peaceful as it is tucked away from busy areas. Owners take an interest in if you arrived safely and are readily available if needed. Left lovely welcome goodies which is a nice touch. Added bonus is having Sky Tv and Netflix for a night snuggled up infront of the wood burning fire which was great as weather not the best. Hope to return so we can explore the Lakes more and have a lovely place to stay.

Worth the stay just to drink in the beautiful indoor and outdoor decor! “TOP NOTCH This cottage has been furnished and kitted out with obvious care and taste by the owners.”

All the interior and exterior fittings are of best quality, It was a joy to return here every day after fell walking. Spotlessly clean, warm, great shower and bath and comfy seating in front of the log burner. Very comfortable bed with finest bedding. Located centrally in town but amazingly quiet due to location at the end of the yard. We had very clear and timely information from the owners to aid us finding it and a lovely welcome pack. There is also a much appreciated supply of initial wood for the fire and the fire was made and ready to light. Also plenty of tea, coffee, milk in the fridge and cleaning products Penrith itself is a quirky old market town with plenty and varied shops, restaurants and pubs and very friendly local people. Can’t wait to return

“What a little gem this cottage is.”

From the really convenient location to the beautiful and very tasteful decor. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our festive break, the Christmas decorations were lovely and really set the scene. We were delighted by the provisions which were very generous and even got a beautifully wrapped present just for us. The parking arrangements set by the council are workable once you understand how it works and there are plenty of car parks within a two minute walk. All-in-all, highly recommended.

“Hideaway cottage is the loveliest little “town house” I have stayed in.”

It’s quiet, cozy, just a few steps away from the centre of Penrith and a short drive from some of the most stunning scenery in the UK. Everything you need in a holiday home is at Hideaway Cottage. A beautifully appointed kitchen complete with a dishwasher and a washing machine, a lovely log burner in the very cozy lounge, a comfy bed in a spacious bedroom and even a cute Hare holding the bathroom door open for you. The whole cottage has been carefully renovated and decorated to bring it up to modern day standards without losing the appeal of an older property. If you are looking for a comfortable place to rest after spending the day hiking or sight seeing in the Lake District, then I recommend you go to Hideaway Cottage.

It had everything that we needed to enjoy a homely stay. Exceptionally maintained and comfortable, in a perfect location in Penrith, close enough to shops, pubs and cafes but a quiet haven too!

“This is an excellent property in terms of amenities, cleanliness and style.”

It's location to the town centre, shops, places of interest and transport links is fantastic for those not wishing to take a car, but provision has also been made for people who do drive. The hosts are incredibly helpful and friendly and quite rightly take pride in the standard that they have reached in renovating this cottage. A lovely quite place to relax and in my case to work from for a few days break. Could have stayed longer without a problem! Looking forward to a return visit and will be recommending to friends and family.

“Wow! Where do I begin.”

As soon as we arrived at Hideaway Cottage we knew it was going to be special and it was. So beautifully decorated with exceptional attention to detail. Every piece of furniture and accessory had been carefully chosen creating a stunning cosy welcoming cottage. It is by far the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. It was a joy to return to each day. Very quiet location but minutes from the town with a good range of independent shops and variety of supermarkets. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hideaway Cottage to future holidaymakers. It certainly made our holiday very enjoyable. Looking forward to planning a return visit.

“A beautifully furnished cottage with everything you would need for a very comfortable stay.”

Located in a quiet secluded position within a couple of minutes walking distance to the Town centre. Penrith is idealy situated to visit all the Lakes and Towns nearby.We would highly recommend this cottage as we had a wonderful experience.
