“Lovely property, great views, well maintained garden and ideal location with sunny aspect.”

Kitchen well stocked. Heating/hot water working well. Beds/sofas all comfy. Bathrooms clean. Robust wifi and netflix on the TV! Only niggle for us was the porch entrance space - limited with 4 walkers plus dogs, espec when raining. Note outdoor areas whilst enclosed aren’t fully dog proof so with adjacent road/sheep plus lambs at entrance cattle grid, it meant our dogs needed to be on lead and carefully watched. Bird feeders were a pleasure to fill and watch from the comfy sofas.

About the location

Often referred to as Great Langdale, to distinguish it from nearby Little Langdale, Langdale's name comes from the Old Norse for 'long valley'. Langdale is a u-shaped valley formed by glaciers. It encompasses the two villages of Chapel Stile and Elterwater, as well as the hamlet of High Close. Set in the centre of the Lake District, Langdale is probably best known for its mountains, from the Langdale Pikes – a group of mountains on the northern side of the village – to England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike.
