    “Enjoyed our stay here.”

    Had some good weather. Saw a lot of the area. Loads of useful information supplied by the owners. A non stick frying pan would be a good addition to the kitchen utensils and a larger TV screen in the sitting room. Bathroom and bedroom both lovely and the supply of logs was a great touch if required.Internet reception really good. 10/10

Following this is a well-appointed kitchen, housing all the necessities you will need to rustle up that evening meal. During the summer evenings, take in the surrounding countryside views from the garden’s ‘love seat’ or enjoy an al fresco dining experience under the star-laden sky. For local amenities, you will find the local pub with 1.5 miles and the closest shop is a mere 4.5 miles away. To keep you busy whilst staying at the property, you will have access to miles walking routes including the Beacon Fell and Beacon Tarn circular walk and the 4-mile Coniston to Torver Jetty walk. Water Yeat is a small hamlet in the Crake Valley, not far from the shores of Allan Tarn, featured in Arthur Ransome's book Swallows And Amazons as Octopus Lake, and a 10 minute walk from the shores of Coniston Water in the beautiful Lake District National Park. At the southern tip of Coniston Water, where Allan Tarn turns into the Crake River, lie the Hamlets of Water Yeat and Nibthwaite. Coniston Water, one of the most imposing and beautiful English Lakes, is situated to the west of Lake Windermere. To the northern end of the lake, the pretty village of Coniston is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the Lake District National Park and makes a superb base for touring Hawkshead, the Langdales, Ambleside and Windermere. Also in the area is Beacon Tarn, featured on Britain’s Favourite View and also reached when venturing along the Long Distance Path of Cumbria Way. Beacon Tarn is a wonderfully tranquil place and well worth a visit. Superb walking, mountain biking and climbing are available locally on Coniston Old Man, Tilberthwaite and Wetherlam, while Grizedale Forest offers lovely woodland trails. The quiet lake is ideal for dinghy sailing and canoeing, or a leisure cruise on the beautiful steam yacht 'Gondola'. Visit the Beatrix Potter Gallery at Hawkshead, Tarn Hows, one of the most visited beauty spots in the country, or Esthwaite Water, famous for its fishing.
