“We loved the lodge and everything about it, location, set up, views, space and decor.”

We have never stayed in a place where the base of the inside of the toilet at the base where the water is looked as though it had never been properly cleaned for months on end with the build up of limescale which we know what that is from, which really makes you feel dirty and makes you feel the rest of the place was not clean, such a shame. We have never stayed in a place where the base of the inside of the toilet at the base where the water is looked as though it had never been properly cleaned for months on end with the build up of limescale which we know what that is from, which really makes you feel dirty and makes you feel the rest of the place was not clean, such a shame. I would have booked to go back but the unclean toilet issue would put me off. I can see that the owners have taken care and made good choices with the John Lewis decor, however it was let down by attention to detail regarding the cleaning, the lodge smelled a bit foisty and unfresh and the kitchen bin was not cleaned properly, and as mentioned the particularly unclean toilet bases were a huge put off for me. I have marked the experience as 4 star however these things would not be difficult to resolve and is the difference from being a 4 or 5 star experience.
