“The accommodation on arrival looked brilliant, very spacious and relaxing.”

Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed but unfortunately the main oven door didn't close properly so food wasnt cooking right so had to switch to the hob (lucky we were only cooking meatballs) Living/dining room was comfortable. The bed downstairs was very comfortable but we found the beds upstairs weren't as comfortable unfortunately. All bedrooms were spacious and had lots of storage space if you are staying longer than a few days. Bathroom upstairs has a nice large bath ...

The bed downstairs was very comfortable but we found the beds upstairs weren't as comfortable unfortunately. All bedrooms were spacious and had lots of storage space if you are staying longer than a few days. Bathroom upstairs has a nice large bath if you like a soak but watch your head (toilet seat wasn't fitted in this one so we chose to use downstairs more) Bathroom downstairs had a shower with double head which was great. House is located in a small and very peaceful village with a garden situated at the side.

About the location

COCKERMOUTH

Bassenthwaite Lake 7 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

The small country market town of Cockermouth is situated in the quiet north-western part of the Lake District, a largely undiscovered and unspoilt area, yet only 13 miles from Keswick. The town is famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and Wordsworth’s Georgian family home, on the main street, is now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust. Cockermouth offers a good variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, but (of course) the main attraction of the area is the beautiful scenery and excellent walking in the northern lakes – Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwent Water.
