“On arrival, settee covered in fluff, floor area near sink dirty.”

Cupboard with SPARE items was empty ( apart from hair drier) so no spare toilet paper. I object to be asked to replace the spare roll for next guests surely owners responsibility to equip cottage. Despite previous guest comment about mop & bucket in wardrobe it was still there! For a 4 person cottage sad lack of coat hangers, none in mop wardrobe. No kitchen roll. Many cottages have welcome tray but here no milk, teabags, coffee etc, would have been nice gesture for those arriving after long ...

Thanks for your feedback. I have asked the cleaner to do a deep clean and send the covers to the dry cleaners (which we do every year). The present cleaner can't carry a mop and bucked to the property so I am looking for another solution. There will be soon be more hangers to replace the missing ones. Property Owner

About the location

COCKERMOUTH

Bassenthwaite Lake 7 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

The small country market town of Cockermouth is situated in the quiet north-western part of the Lake District, a largely undiscovered and unspoilt area, yet only 13 miles from Keswick. The town is famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and Wordsworth’s Georgian family home, on the main street, is now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust. Cockermouth offers a good variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, but (of course) the main attraction of the area is the beautiful scenery and excellent walking in the northern lakes – Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwent Water.
