The property

Walkers Retreat is a well‑placed cottage in Keswick, Cumbria, set within the Lake District National Park and suited to families, friends or a couple keen to explore this popular part of the county, with the added benefit of being close to the river, the lake and local amenities, and welcoming up to three well‑behaved pets.

Park in the designated space and enjoy the ease of a central Keswick location, where the town’s energy sits just beyond the door.

Step inside to the hallway, with hanging space ready for coats and walking gear, perfect for setting off each morning and returning at the end of the day with boots to kick off and tales to tell.

The reverse‑level layout places the bedrooms on the ground floor, offering a restful setting after time spent outdoors, with a king‑size bedroom providing a relaxing place to unwind and a single bedroom thoughtfully arranged with a mirror and wardrobe for a child or extra guest.

Close by, the bathroom offers the choice of a long soak in the bath or a refreshing shower, with a heated towel rail adding extra comfort.

Upstairs, the carpeted living and dining room feels bright and inviting, with a leather corner sofa and armchair creating space to stretch out with a book or gather together in front of the electric fire beneath the mounted TV, while a Velux window draws in natural light through the day.

The dining table becomes a natural spot for shared meals, games or planning the next outing, and a short set of steps leads up to the kitchen area, where days begin with coffee and evenings are spent preparing easy suppers after time on the fells, with everything laid out for relaxed self‑catering.

Outside, Keswick is yours to explore on foot, from independent shops and welcoming pubs to riverside walks and the lively town centre, with the weekly market adding extra colour on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Beyond the town, Derwentwater invites lakeside strolls, gentle boat trips and rewarding viewpoints, Bassenthwaite Lake offers open shoreline walks and wildlife moments, and Ullswater tempts with steamer cruises, waterside paths and sweeping fell views.

Make Walkers Retreat your base for town days and fell adventures.
