The property

Thrang View is a spacious Lakeland bolthole for up to six guests, set in a prime position with sweeping views across the famous Langdale Valley.

Sitting right in the heart of Chapel Stile, it’s a gift for walkers, you can wander straight out of the door onto easy valley strolls or head off for something far more demanding in the surrounding fells.

Inside, the bungalow is geared entirely towards comfort and those unforgettable views.

The light-filled lounge is the sort of place you won’t mind hiding away in when the weather turns, with a generous bay window, French doors, and an inviting open fire to gather round after a long day on the hills.

The dining area sits alongside, ideal for slow breakfasts before setting out or relaxed evenings recounting the day’s adventures.

The well-planned kitchen has everything you need to keep everyone fed and happy, while the entrance porch and hall provide no-nonsense space for boots, jackets and all the usual clobber.

Three beautifully furnished bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, ensure a restful night’s sleep, with one enjoying its own en-suite complete with a large walk-in shower.

There’s also a separate house bathroom and an additional WC for convenience.

Step outside and the appeal only grows, the neatly kept, enclosed garden is made for soaking up the views, whether you're sitting out with a morning coffee or settling in for al-fresco drinks as the sun dips behind the Pikes.

Private parking for three cars and access over a cattle grid make arrivals straightforward.

Chapel Stile itself offers everything you need close by, the locally run Co-operative store is an easy wander and stocks plenty of regional produce, alongside Brambles Café, a little further on is Wainwrights Inn, a proper Lakeland pub serving local ales and hearty plates.

Nearby are Stoves restaurant, and in Elterwater you’ll find the Britannia Inn, the Eltermere Inn and Lanty Slee’s Bar/Restaurant.

Head further up the valley and you’ll reach the New and Old Dungeon Ghyll hotels, often referred to as Great Langdale, to distinguish it from nearby Little Langdale, Langdale's name comes from the Old Norse for 'long valley'.

Langdale is a u-shaped valley formed by glaciers, It encompasses the two villages of Chapel Stile and Elterwater, as well as the hamlet of High Close.

Set in the centre of the Lake District, Langdale is probably best known for its mountains, the iconic Langdale Pikes – a group of mountains on the northern side of the village, rock climbers will also love Raven Crag, Gimmer Crag and White Ghyll.

Not surprisingly Langdale is also famous for it’s spectacular views, including Dungeon Ghyll Force Waterfall, Harrison Stickle and Pike of Stickle, it is an extremely popular holiday destination and loved by hikers, climbers, fell runners and lovers of the outdoors in general.
