Accommodation in detail:
Brooklands Cottage is approached along a narrow country lane used only by a handful of local residents but popular with mountain bikers and walkers and for the final 400 yards you leave the tarmac behind and continue up the old miners track to the cottage.
From the lane the gate opens to a beautifully landscaped woodland garden and steps lead to the front door that opens to the porch.
The lounge is bright and furnished to a high standard with solid oak floor, views to the garden and surrounding woodland, comfortable sofas, family dining table and a beautiful feature fire place with log burning stove. The high quality continues into the kitchen with hand made bespoke oak units with local slate worktops and modern appliances. A side door leads from here directly to the garden and patio area and this will, almost certainly, become the main door you choose to use for the rest of your stay.
To the front of the property there is a dual aspect bedroom with a luxurious king size bed. The second bedroom offers you the choice of either another king size bed or it can be made up at two 3ft twin beds (please specify when booking).
The family bathroom offers a choice of a relaxing bath after a day on the fells or separate shower with monsoon shower.
The natural rocky outcrop forms the garden, that wraps around the property, is beautifully designed with a patio area and terraces but the native Lakeland woodland forms a magnificent backdrop and the garden becomes and oasis for bird life and wildlife including the red squirrels, deer and you might even spot the local family of badgers.
The property has a secure undercroft area that is suitable for the secure storage of mountain bikes and other outdoor equipment.
This luxury hideaway in Little Langdale makes a magical retreat for walking in the Lake District, or simply soaking up the breath-taking scenery. Under the Lingmoor Fells, Little Langdale is approached via Blea Tarn on a winding road.
The Three Shires Inn offers hearty homemade fare and local ales just a short stroll away. Walks of all standards abound and the famous Cathedral Cavern and Slaters Bridge are both a stone's throw away.
When you wish to head out and explore the rest of the Lakes, pass pretty little Elterwater on your way to Skelwith Bridge and the A593. From here, head south to Coniston or north to Ambleside - a sophisticated village on the northern shores of Lake Windermere.
As well as an abundance of walking to enjoy from your door, you'll find acclaimed Lake District country pubs aplenty in the surrounding area. The perfect way to refuel after a day on the fells (if you can tear yourself away from your magical setting).
