A narrow lane leads the short distance from the village of Crosthwaite to Low Cartmell Fold. Stepping from the slate porch and through the front door, visitors are immediately struck by the age and character of the beautiful Lakeland farm house.
The reception rooms are arranged on the ground floor and include beautiful traditional slate floors. The welcoming living room with feature oak panel wall is a great room where friends and family can relax on comfortable sofas in front of a cosy log burning stove or enjoy a film on TV. The spacious family dining room is a real feature of the house with original feature fire place and large family dining table and continues to play host to many special family celebrations or relaxing social dinners with friends. As you would expect, the large farmhouse kitchen is the real heart of the home. The bespoke fitted kitchen, with granite worktops and feature island unit, includes a traditional aga, American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer and a quality kitchen inventory. A farmhouse kitchen table is a great place to gather for breakfast in a morning to plan your day in the lakes or to relax over a drink as your appointed head chef conjures up a "Masterchef" moment! If you need to escape with a good book or the weekend papers, the pretty snug is a real feature of the cottage with club room style wing back chairs.
Choose from one of four pretty bedrooms, all of which include original period features. The master bedroom is presented with a superb super king bed and is complemented by a smart ensuite shower room with walk in shower, basin and WC. The Lyth Valley lies behind Cartmel Fell to the east of Lake Windermere.
