Once part of a thriving bobbin mill, this delightful Lakeland barn conversion is surrounded by acres of wooded valley, alongside the River Gowan. It’s part of the select Ings Mill Park development, a stroll from the award-winning Watermill Inn and microbrewery at Ings, and 2 miles from Windermere village. Staveley village is also within walking distance, forming your gateway to the stunning Kentmere Valley.
Back at the cottage, the sophisticated accommodation still oozes traditional character and charm; old cottage doors, slate and wood floors and cosy furnishings. Two double bedrooms and a single provide flexible accommodation for families, friends or walking groups - relax, unwind, take to the fells or take it easy in truly rejuvenating surroundings.
Accommodation in detail
Private parking for 2 cars outside the property. An entrance hallway with cloakroom / 2nd WC, leads to the contemporary oak kitchen / dining room. The living room boasts deep-cushioned sofas and a large picture window - originally the barn door. Ground floor single bedroom and modern house bathroom with shower over bath. Upstairs to the king-size double bedroom and twin bedroom. Outside, the private fenced patio is furnished for drinks or meals al-fresco.
Ings Mill Park is just a 2 minute stroll from the small hamlet of Ings. The hamlet is scattered around the famously scenic A591, which is also the main route right into the heart of the Lakes. This location affords you peace, tranquility and a countryside setting, but also stress-free and simple journeys to many of the Lake District's highlights.
Nearby Staveley village forms your route into the gorgeous Kentmere Valley, popular with both walkers and cyclists. But the village itself is a delight to explore; the Staveley Mill Yard hosts an eclectic mix of Lakeland producers, craft shops and art galleries, as well as the award-winning Hawkshead Brewery and Beer Hall (where you can also enjoy a meal from Wilf's Cafe, adjacent to the brewery). We also recommend a trip to the Eagle & Child in Staveley - a cosy traditional Lakeland pub with an indulgent, high quality menu.
To stock up the kitchen, follow the A591 to Windermere and visit the high-end Booths supermarket, just next to Windermere train station. The supermarket stocks top quality Lakeland produce, and all your everyday essentials. Bustling Bowness village and the activity-packed eastern shores of Lake Windermere are only a couple of miles further away, along with the Windermere Golf Club.
