Lake Windermere is around a mile from the cottage and there are a fantastic range of walks from the village which allows visitors to abandon their cars for a week and to relax and enjoy the Lake District right from the doorstep. The front door opens to a hallway and that runs through the house linking the three bedrooms and stairs lead from here to the living accommodation and 4th bedroom..
As you climb the stairs to reach the open plan lounge, along with kitchen diner the first thing that strikes you is the sheer size of the space, with light flooding through from the large windows. The whole feel of the space is luxurious and contemporary. The main living room area is made up of comfortable sofas and armchairs that are arranged around the coffee table, flame effect log burning stove and large screen Smart TV with Sky and Sky Sports channels. A secondary seating area is carefully arranged to offer views above the roof tops to the fells beyond and is a lovely spot to relax with a good book or the weekend papers.
The large kitchen dining area is fitted and furnished to the very highest standard. The Smeg range cooker is ideal for preparing everything from a quick breakfast to a celebration dinner party. The kitchen is equipped to the highest standard with a top quality kitchen inventory accompanied with quality appliances that include a dishwasher, fridge, freezerr, microwave, coffee machine and washer drier. The large family dining table is the ideal place to relax over a special dinner with friends or to plan your day over a hearty Cumbrian breakfast.
Returning to the ground floor there is a choice of three beautifully furnished and luxurious bedrooms, Choose from anyone of three stunning kingsize or a super twin bedded room. Old Ambleside House is located in a quite side street in the centre of Ambleside. Ambleside village is located on the northern shores of Lake Windermere. The surrounding scenery of Lakeland Fells is dramatic, and lends to a stunning backdrop to the Lakeland stone buildings and attractive streets of the village. One of the Lake District's most sophisticated communities, Ambleside village is alive with interesting local businesses, shops and acclaimed Lake District restaurants and pubs.
Friends or families will love the freedom this location brings. Stroll to the shops or out for a coffee, then a little further onto Waterhead Pier, to take a cruise on the Lake. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly from Waterhead Pier (just outside the village centre) and provide a scenic and car free route to Bowness and Lakeside. A fabulous way for all to explore.
For walking, Ambleside is renowned as a hub for enthusiasts. Numerous famous routes begin close by, and a wide range of strolls take in the breathtaking scenery without having to travel too far. Ambleside is well stocked with outdoor shops and route information is widely available.
